I just added a google document to my page thegreenbit.nekoweb.org for my game project Unexpected Places. It will be updated as the game development continues, but also has information on how you can contribute. So artists and creators out there, please consider taking a look!

Heyo! Been a while since I gave an update on this, but on the topic of Unexpected Places, the results from the poll, and honestly my own opinion too, came to the result of me not continuing development on Roblox, and will instead be using Defold from now on.

This means not only do I need to transfer assets from my game over to Defold, I also need to make player movement from the ground up. Roblox supplied all the essential tools for me to make a game easily, so this is a change of pace, and will probably take me a bit.

So that's all to say, don't expect any updates soon, this will take time, and when I have a functional prototype working that's when I will give an update, so stay tuned! 💚

project even after I graduate. If I do end up finishing it, or at least have a working beta for it, I could actually put it on an application, as a part of my portfolio, giving me a higher chance to get a job working with game development.

I have given myself (and the polls on other platforms) a 1 week deadline, so I either come up with a decision by then, or go with the polls. Hope to hear input from others, experienced in game development or not, to get more views and hopefully help me come to a decision. Thank you 💚

and that forces me to cut back on dialogue and visuals. Along side that, random assets could be denied by Roblox or later on be deleted, which makes it even harder. The positives of Roblox for me are familiarity and easy platform adaptations, along side automatic multiplayer options. But that is-

Reasons why I am making this decision is because of a lot of things. Roblox as a platform right now, feels like it's constantly in turmoil, the engine has limitations and the moderation system puts my game at risk of random deletion. I want my game to reach a mature audience with it's story telling-

If there ends up being overwhelming support for this project, and I can keep up progress, I might start a patreon. But that will be a while, I still got like school stuff to do, and will most likely release the next update post as a full devlog video going over stuff.

Right now I'm in the process of making a dialogue system that supports different types of screens and my custom font system. Aswell as commissioning concept art for the first two characters.

It will be a while until I am ready to show what's next for unexpected places, but I hope what I've shown so far is interesting! Anyways, take care everyone and stay safe!💚

It will be a solo project, however I will most likely be commissioning people to create music, textures, etc. for the game. So feel free to reach out to me! There are currently no plans for play testing, but I will most likely only ask friends or mutuals to play test.

Updates will be slow, so don't expect regular posts. This project will also work as a learning process for me, so I can learn to do things other than just scripting and GUI work. Anyways that's all for now, thank you for reading and watching my videos, take care!💚
