Here come the Rays!

*whispers* Thanks

Poor Tobias Myers!

Steven Matz is coming in to pitch the 9th. That makes him the third former Met to pitch for the Rays tonight. So that's fun.

And nowwwwww the most depressing 7th inning stretch of your lifeeee

Bring in Brandon Woodruff you cowards

The National League team is up 10-0 in a World Series game where Freddy Peralta and Francisco Lindor are in the building. I certainly would have taken that back in February.

Why does nobody talk about the fact that Junior Caminero has the worst OAA in the game (-13)? Is everyone just nicer than I am?

Hey @mets.com pay Daniel Vogelbach whatever he wants to be the new Director of Hitting

Jeter, ARod, and Big Papi all picked the Rays to win tonight's contest.

I knew this looked familiar

If it were up to the second base umpire, it'd still be 2-0 Brewers.

It's like they don't listen to me at all.

That's my shortstop (and his family).

Four and Two Third Inning Freddy

Jesse Rogers confirmed Chelsea Janes’ earlier report that Cubs assistant hitting coach John Mallee is no longer being considered for a job with the Mets coaching staff. Mallee will stay in Chicago.

"He's known as 'Freddy Fastball." ARod breaking the news that the Rays changed Peralta's nickname too.

*whispering* Salary caaaaap

You can watch the Francisco Lindor Roberto Clemente Award press conference here. It's winding down but you can just rewind to the beginning. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O1r...

Caption this pic from Anthony DiComo

Francisco Lindor is dressed fancy tonight!

Any Mariano Duncan story by law has to include his 1996 quote: “We play today, we win today.”

According to Anthony DiComo, Mariano Duncan will serve in the created role of "Major League coach" for the Mets. Duncan will help the team’s position players in multiple areas, while also serving as a batting-practice pitcher. (The Mets let their BP pitcher go recently.) www.mlb.com/news/mariano...

Kevin Long is no longer under consideration for a job as a Mets hitting coach, per Mike Puma. According to a source of Puma's, "there wasn't a match."

Chelsea Janes wrote that “people familiar with his thinking” claim Clay Holmes is open to a return to the Mets “if the right deal is offered.” sny.tv/articles/in-...

My mother went 12-1 on her NFL picks this week. Her strategy of picking the teams with bird nicknames, or animal nicknames over non-animal nicknames, mostly paid off.

Are we sure it’s National Tight Ends Day and not Missed Field Goals Day?

Here's @marksimon.bsky.social on Game 6 of the 1986 World Series. Mark included the Red Sox radio and CBS Radio calls of the bottom of the 10th. The Red Sox announcer sounded more excited for the Mets than Jack Buck! 1986-mets-rewatch.beehiiv.com/p/1986-mets-...

40 years ago today:

Okay it might have been a swing. I still think if the game was played at The Trop James Hoye says no swing.

If first base ump James Hoye has a home in Florida, that bad boy is getting hella egged on Halloween.

If that was a swing I'm the King of England.

I'm cool with the Brewers winning it all but please do not make this is a sweep.

Oh hell yeah "Showdown" by ELO going into commercial.

Why didn't Fox throw it to Andy Fletcher for another awkward convo?

Me whenever Chandler Simpson comes up to bat.

I thought ground can't cause a fumble.

Interesting. A few days ago DiComo wrote that people in the Mets front office claimed they did ask Peralta to make the same adjustments the Rays did.

My grandfather owned and operated a necktie factory, you jerk.
