I am a computer programmer, and my hobby is the math behind picking stocks and investing. So I wrote some investing software. Stocky fetches and visualizes market data for investment research. More info at red82.com/stocky/ #macos #swift #programming #indiedev #investing #stockmarket #finance

This last update improves the filtering capabilities of Stocky allowing for more granularity when it comes to picking financial instruments for investing. (1/3) #red82 #macos #indiedev #swift #trading #finance #investing #stocks #stockmarket #software #programming

Stocky now supports filtering based on single day price change, 3 year return, 5 year return, 52 week position, 20 day average volume, P/E ratio, and deviation from 30, 60 and 90 day moving averages. (2/3)

Slowly getting around to fleshing out the little UI details that make a program more polished and easier to use. (1/4) #red82 #macos #indiedev #swift #trading #finance #investing #stocks #stockmarket #software #programming

With this update, you no longer have to bring up the Lists dialog to find out what the window you’re currently looking at has in it, which is really handy when you have a lot of windows open at the same time. (3/4)

Stocky can now keep track of Filter settings on a per-Workspace level, allowing different selection criteria to be applied to different groupings. (1/3) #indiedev #investing #macos #swift #programming #stockmarket #stocks #finance

This granularity is going to be very useful, as the previous implementation was a little limiting. For example your Price/Earnings (PE) filtering criteria would be dramatically different when viewing a Workspace of Growth stocks vs. a Workspace of Dividend stocks. (2/3)

Today I was able to make some pretty good progress on one of my favourite features of Stocky, which is Workspace Filters. Filters can be combined, and are controlled via their own settings panes. #indiedev #investing #macos #finance #swift #programming #stocks #stockmarket

This means you can use Stocky to (for example)) - Find all Instruments. In the SP500 and Russell 1000. Which had a 3Y performance over 30%. And 5Y performance ver 10%. And a which had a P/E under 20. And sort them so that the top of the list is the stock that dropped the most today. Done!

You are up to date.
