Been trying to get DS2 Seamless to work on the Retroid P6 for fun - the game itself runs with a few hitches on it, but the moment the online components start running the FPS slows to a crawl when you move the character. Doesn't happen with the Deck. Wondering if theres a way to make it play nice

Disregarding that GIMP isnt close to being a replacer for professionals using ps (to which I ask beyond Affinity, what really is), GIMPs UI is not its problem and hasnt been for ages. In fact, its way better than Photoshop 9/10 by default. If you think otherwise you need a refresh, youre flat wrong.

All that said: things like filters and the colour wheel(!) blow photoshops out of the water. Also, small things like being able to adjust values with your scrollwheel, something thats somehow unintuitive in PS, are great. In general Ive found GIMP is just better with general stuff like that.

I dont think GIMP is "there" yet frankly and wont be for a bit but I really dont understand the UI complaint specifically these days. Lotta fair game to throw, but its UI is just not one of them. Used to be though for sure

Most of its problems come down to featuresets. Shapes tool wont be a thing for a bit (im sure theres a plugin though tbh), handling text is whack. Doable, but whack. And while I love the filter layer system it doesnt replace Adjustment layers. Also dont enjoy the third popup export *every time*.

Also: layer boundaries i respect in theory but find to be irrelevant most times and I feel for most is also true. If I want layer limitation im likely using the layer lock.

Sans the fact that its french EDM with female vocalist with a side of Living Tombstone its just a huge mismatch in direction I think. Replace it with a softer(tm) generic indie game music and it'd be inoffensive. But nope, gotta listen to most basic trap beat ever made in the >>hub world. Jeeesus
