โ˜•๏ธ PRES CAFE FORUM | Central News went out in the ITV Granada region this evening instead of Granada Reports. Granada Reports has been operating from a temporary set whilst work on a new set continues in their main studio. >> FORUM THREAD: pres.cafe/showthread.p...

๐ŸŸฅ REWIND | YT Clip | Wondering if these were specially made for Channel, given the "action" seems to sit between that ghastly overlay of a section of the logo. Still hard to believe this logo made it as far as the 90s.

@thetvroom.com @tvlive.site @ukpres1.bsky.social A couple of rare examples of Channel TV trailers for Emmerdale. Definitely no lifting of Meridian's promo graphics this time... www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cmx...

๐ŸŸฅ REWIND | YT Clip 2/2 | It was normal for the network announcer to single-handedly manage channel output back in these days for a portion of the day - particularly for OU and Schools broadcasts. A full Network Control team would normally be present for more mainstream schedules (esp evenings).

Re: BBC 4Xtra / Sounds. Any archive service has to pay creators. The BBC canโ€™t have an infinite database of content paid for via a fixed pool of money from the licence fee. Unless of course they work out the clever method Spotify did (just steal it all with menaces and donโ€™t pay the suppliers).

๐ŸŸฆ CLEAN FEED | News | New BBC News head Rachel Jupp confirms closure of 100 journalist posts to save ยฃ5.5m.

๐ŸŸฆ CLEAN FEED | And just to add to the announcer's link into today's Saturday Kitchen: "...and please note, there's strong language, right from the start..." And on this occasion Alan Cumming, quite a few people heard him.

๐ŸŸฆ CLEAN FEED | Nothing like a bit of bong & rumble at 10pm. (As seen at the start of @bbcnewsline's 10pm headlines.)

๐ŸŸฆ A frequent complaint from BBC staff, over many years: why the need for so many managers and senior leaders on large salaries, of dubious competence and value. When cuts are made, the perception is that proportionately, these people are largely immune.

๐ŸŸฆ After a meeting with the Irish Minister for Media Patrick O'Donovan today, RTE DG Kevin Bakhurst explained how he had agreed to "carry on working with his officials to try to find a resolution to this but it was very positive, which was very welcome for our part".

Carly responded to a Bluesky post two years ago when I was in a panic and needed someone to do some really basic photoshop. Instead she came up with illustrations that shaped how the publication looked. Do send her more work if you need actual talented human illustration.

As well as books, posters, games and all sorts, I also do editorial illustration. Here's some of my work for the independent, (award-winning!) news site londoncentric.media Thanks to editor @jim.londoncentric.media for being a pleasure to work with! #illustration #art

๐ŸŸซ We're saddened to learn of the death of broadcast historian and former STV and BBC Scotland TV announcer, Tony Currie. Tony died on 26th September at his home on the Isle of Lismore.

๐ŸŸฆ CLEAN FEED | Gradually becoming a regular occurrence. Earlier bedtimes for BBC One. But in an age of on-demand and a wealth of other options - not to mention, reduced BBC funding - this seems a sensible direction of travel.

๐ŸŸช TX | Weather | The Met Office is predicting strong winds on Tue/Wed next week as a result of an extremely deep Low in the Atlantic. Track of the Low still uncertain but the worst of the winds currently expected out at sea. Possible disruption to mast-based TV/radio services.

๐ŸŸฆ CLEAN FEED | @TheGNShow is back for a new season... ...and so are the opening titles and set. Granted there have been some tweaks to both since the first show in 2007...but still...what a run! @jumpdesign.bsky.social
