Mixing political candidates with influencer culture is a dangerous game. Influencers are treated like celebrities, and for some followers, that turns into something deeper—an unhealthy attachment where they feel like the creator is their best friend, family, or ride-or-die.

Because when you blur the line between political leadership and influencer-style loyalty, you risk creating the same playbook we’ve criticized for years—one popularized by Donald Trump: discredit critics, rally against perceived enemies, and treat disagreement as betrayal.

That’s not how a healthy democracy functions. The reality is, this behavior is coming from a relatively small (but very loud) group. But ignoring it—or worse, enabling it—only gives it room to grow.

We talk a lot about the “radical right”—and for good reason—but this past primary showed that extreme behavior isn’t exclusive to one side. I saw people engaging in doxxing, threatening violence, and escalating rhetoric to a level that felt disturbingly familiar.

Not fringe disagreement—full-on hostility. What’s worse is how it was handled. When a campaign’s response is essentially, “send us names and we’ll talk to them,” it misses the point. Leadership should set the tone and clearly condemn that behavior upfront.

But influencing has always been a one-way relationship. The audience listens; they don’t actually know the person. And that dynamic gets risky in politics, where perception, loyalty, and emotion can outweigh facts and accountability.

Did you know? MS-NOW was rolled off by Comcast, which donated $1M to Donald Trump’s 2025 inauguration and $250K in 2016. Comcast has also rolled back DEI initiatives and pulled out of Pride sponsorships in 2025. One of its largest investors? Vanguard—a corporate giant similar to BlackRock.

A little Tuesday Trivia: 🗞️ Ben Collins, CEO of The Onion, also co-owns its parent company Tetrahedron with billionaire Jeff Lawson. Lawson has donated to PACs and candidates who’ve received AIPAC backing, including: • 2024: Angela Alsobrooks (D), Hillary Scholten (D) • 2023: Elissa Slotkin (D)

With the IL-09 primary in its final hours, I’ve chose not to feed false narratives these past few days and instead enjoyed the engagement from Kat’s fans on my platform. Engagement is where my income comes from—so those comments coincidentally generated about $1,500.

That engagement was fueled by misinformation and subpar reporting that assumed correlation equals causation. Rest assured, I’ll be donating all monetization generated from the hate and threats toward me and my loved ones to Planned Parenthood.

I’ll reiterate: I did not accept $1,500. I have financial documentation confirming that. My focus is on real issues affecting everyday Americans—not rage bait from social media influencers. I’ll share more about the funding networks around Kat after Tuesday.

⚠️Important Reminder⚠️ While I strongly encourage respectful discussion on my platform, direct threats of violence toward me or my loved ones are not protected speech in the United States. Nor is doxxing. Any threats in messages, email, or comments are taken very seriously.

Each threat is documented and reported to the appropriate city, state, and federal law enforcement including the FBI’s IC3. I pursue every legal option available to ensure our safety. Political disagreements should never escalate into intimidation, harassment, or threats. Engage responsibly.

AIPAC and their allies have now spent >$15.8 MILLION on independent expenditures across 4 Democratic House primary elections in Illinois: ⚠️ Donna Miller #IL02 ⚠️ Melissa Conyears-Ervin #IL07 ⚠️ Melissa Bean #IL08 ⚠️ Laura Fine #IL09

Yours truly is featured in a two-page spread in the Spring edition of Out In STL Magazine! 🌈 10,000 copies are now out in the wild across the bi-state region — in LGBTQ+ spaces like coffee shops, bars, etc. I’m grateful to be included and to keep using this platform to advocate for our community.

Some cute WOKEness spotted at Five Below 👀✨ As mentioned before: Five Below as a company does not donate to political candidates or parties. Some leaders do make personal political donations and while the amounts are minimal, those contributions skew overwhelmingly toward the Democratic platform.
