I remember having a pop-up book about faeries when I was a kid. The artwork was amazing, and the combination of the wonderful art and the interactive, 3D-like elements gave the book a magical quality.

I have no idea where that pop-up book is today, but I'd been thinking about it lately and decided to do some research online. Apparently, the 12-page pop-up book from 1980 was a variation of a much larger, non-pop-up book from 1978 that had almost 200 pages.

Unfortunately, something sticky got spilled on it at some point, some of the pages were torn out, and it eventually ended up in pretty rough shape. It reminded me of the Spells of Astoroth book from Bedknobs and Broomsticks, which was also torn in half and in pretty bad shape in the film.

system3.com/news/from-re... "No generative AI was used in the creation of the artwork." Well that's a lie. The "redraw" SOMEHOW combined two of the teats on the udder from the original into one. The dude's hand in the redraw doesn't make any sense either. And the "render" bungled the milk can arm.

Currently playing the System Shock demo on the Nintendo Switch 2. This game needs to have separate controller binds for inventory navigation. I seem to only be able to pick up items to place in the recycler if the A button is used for crouching, the default setting. It just breaks the game.

Danger should not have been able to hit Cyclops with his own optic blast in X-Men '97. Cyclops absorbs that energy. Just like he absorbed Havok's blasts when they first encountered each other in the original show. That's an annoying oversight...
