I've been mainlining Asimov of late as well as Clarke. Classic sci-fi is (or was) a big gap in my reading. It's amazing how little they applied their imaginations to the possibilities of human social change. This tale of Asimov tracks 100% with what you see of women in his fiction.
Leary was an egotist, loved the fame that championing acid had brought, and was a man of his era. Isaac Asimov boasted of never meeting a woman he didn’t proposition, was grabbier than Leary at sf cons, so it was familiar behavior to me, and I found it repulsive, embarrassing.
