*shows cold, sterile grocery store full of miserable shoppers in 2026* *shows cold, sterile grocery store full of miserable shopper in 2005, but itβs sepia tone, has ethereal music, and the shoppers all have 14 fingers* βThings were so much better in the 2000βs!β Views: 547k Likes 15k Comments 2k
After months of tinkering away on the script, I finally finished recording the voiceover for my next big 40 minute behemoth of a video. I let some family members listen to a few clips and, naturally, they laughed, said I sound fake, nobody wants to watch that, and why canβt I be like MoistCritical?
But anyway, Iβve been on an upward swing this year, steadily putting out my best work, each big video better than the last, and my views and sub count have been going up with each upload. Even if it all drops off, Iβm glad to have put in effort to make these videos Iβve been putting off for so long.
Kuru Kuru Kururin is legitimately a contender for most fun game Iβve played all year. I canβt wait to try out Kururin Paradise. If Kururin Squash! comes to NSO GameCube, Iβm gonna lose it.
Three classic games are now available to play with Game Boy Advance β Nintendo Classics for #NintendoSwitchOnline + Expansion Pack members! βοΈ Monster Rancher Advance βοΈ METAL SLUG ADVANCE βοΈ Kururin Paradise
My computer was broken and my phone had a tiny monthly limit of available minutes. I did have a 3DS and PokΓ©mon Y, however, and I spent most of my βplaytimeβ talking to a long distance PokΓ©mon X player through the gameβs voice chat.
On this day in 2013, 13 years ago, PokΓ©mon X & Y were first released. These games were the first 3D main series titles and had you travel through the Kalos region. and try to stop Team Flare's plans while introducing new PokΓ©mon & Mega Evolution www.serebii.net/xy/
Three days of existing in a nerd utopia. I got to meet and talk with amazing people like Grant Kirkhope, Chris Sutherland, and Kev Bayliss. Got my old N64 games signed. Met the AVGN and Justin Silverman. Went to cool panels. Took pics with awesome cosplayers. Bought SO MUCH STUFF. #retrogamecon
Toying with the idea of going to my first con next month, all by mine lonesome. Gonna feel exactly like this.
After trying and failing to get into Blue, Yellow, and Sapphire, PokΓ©mon Pearl was the game that finally clicked with me. To this day, I have never sunk as many hours into a game as I did with Pearl. Throughout 2007, I marathoned every prior PokΓ©mon game, and I continued to be obsessed until Gen 5.
PokΓ©mon Diamond and Pearl were first out in Japan 20 years ago on the Nintendo DS! π¦ͺπ Taking us to the in-depth Sinnoh region (literally, I loved the underground stuff) and rejigging a few 'mons and mechanics. All made even better in Platinum. Media: www.rpgfan.com/game/pokemon...
Imagine if the Rambi Rumble from Donkey Kong Bananza was a whole game where you could ride on different animal buddies as your favorite DK characters, and race through the jungle, underwater, etc. I wonder why they never thought of this amazing concept! What would such a game even be called anyway?
What mini game do you wish spun off to became its own game?
Getting close to finishing my replay of Super Paper Mario. Yet another game about a town full of people slowly coming to terms with the approaching end times.
Persona 3 sure does hit different in 2026, where powers beyond our control have stolen away our futures, and everyone you know is in a cult, yet all you can do is keep moving forward in spite of it all.
I agree with all of this. Reminds me of just how many screenshots I've taken of Diddy Kong Racing in high-def (with widescreen!) because of how good it looks.
There's a lot I think is correct about how you can't really easily replicate the visual tricks done with 2d pixel art on retro console games that were designed for CRTs but sorry, some stuff just totally fine or better upscaled. You're never gonna convince me this looks worse than the OG on a CRT.
