With how quickly they all flipped the script and starting instantly screaming vitriol to the artists, probably their largest ally they have. Don't be surprised when nobody wants to take your side anymore. Humans are human. It's 20 years of history that doesn't just slough off. Good luck tho.

Dating apps have always been heavily in favor of women, and have been known to exploit the psychology of men for the sake of draining through subscription and microtransactions. I got far away from those companies a long time ago when I saw what was happening.

That said, I got some kinda Google popup about using AI to create a better headshot for a profile, and I shuddered for all the women out there. Soon the dynamic on those sites will change again, and the cesspool will get deeper as men everywhere AI generate their own face to get dates. Gross.

Fun trick of the brain for you: Since Dogs can easily assign meaning to simple words (Such as assigning the "action" of sitting, to the spoken word) You can just as easily teach a dog the Hot Cold Game.

Sense of smell obviously takes precedent to a dog, but many dogs can be pretty nose dumb at times. Either way, the scent of the treat drawing closer, as you switch from colder to warmer, the association in her brain is made. Warmer/Smells | Colder/No Smells

The association goes deeper. You've been playing this game with your dog for six years now. You now apply the word to other things in your life. You now play the game any time your dog is searching for something and failing. You've become your dog's faithful guide.

Take a piece of food, show it to your dog, get her excited for it, hide it somewhere without her seeing, and use colder or warmer to indicate that she is closer or further. A dog wise in her years will apply the meaning to those words and will in a sense "play" the game as you guide her to treats.

Someday medical researches are going to confirm that our culture's methods of advertising are creating adhd in humans as they grow up. People have recognized television as something...not completely good...for people, since its inception. The idiot box.

I know I have a jaded view of the government, and people of high power and standing, but those are the type of people we should always be critical of, and watching over. That said, I just can't imagine we've made it THIS far without any real regulations for any reason outside of bribery type shit.

You can pretty much call it as you see it, I had a coworker that babbled on like an auctioneer, and when I asked her if she watches youtube on 2X she got really wide-eyed and nervous. Of course she did...

The thing is, the effects, the dangers of it, are not life threatening. They are even something you can recover from if you pull yourself out of those fast paced environments. It's just baffling to me that these impacts appear so obvious to someone like me, though I'm experiencing these first hand..

The thing is its not "somebody wants to sell me a thing for 30 seconds" that's bad, its the constant diversion of your attention. For me as a kid, every 15 minutes, my attention was destroyed and rebuilt. That creates physical changes in my brain. I am training myself on that repetition

Now its every 2 minutes, they get an ad or something pulling their attention somewhere else. On top of that, the people most susceptible this phenomena are exactly the type of people to be watching content online at 2X speed. Separate researchers have studied the effects of that as well

They've spent the last few decades putting money in the right pockets to keep governing bodies in the dark, or simply unconcerned with the negative impacts on the general populace, as the massive pot of money it generates is obviously more valuable than the 'general quality' of some human lives.

So rather than creating stricter regulations on advertising it's just gotten worse and worse over time. Now you have to watch more ad content than real content. Websites will ban or otherwise discourage your ability to block those ads. People made a game out of how fast they can close all 12 popups

Our attention span, our drive to accomplish tasks, it's mold-able. The way our culture drives advertising, by force, into everyone's lives, is just one major example of something that is molding us. It's not doing us any favors, but the advertisement industry is a colossal mega monster.

The reality is, researchers behind the uprising of television, and advertising, that then pushed the advertising industry onto the internet, taking over that space as well, are probably completely aware of exactly how much damage they are doing to people. Just like the oil companies knew about G.W.

stop and switch tasks, or talk incessantly about something, or watch a quick tik tok. Meanwhile for myself, I stopped watching TV a long time ago, got rid of facebook, twitter, n all that. This is the only social left, and I keep it put away. It doesnt invade my life like socials used to.

In exchange I find myself going outside more, spending less time glued to my computer, and I barely use my phone anymore. It's gone back to being a tool that is available to me. My phone is a phone, light, calculator, but it's not a drug anymore. I sleep better, I stay focused longer.

I remember when I was a kid, I could sit still for a good 20 minutes before I start falling apart. I have to switch tasks to stay engaged. I have to get up an do something. In our house, commercial time is chore time. You got 5 minutes to go do as much shit as you can before you come back to sitdown

Kids today are worse, addicted to 3 minute videos with 30sc-3mn ads between every other one, and ads built into the videos themselves even. Coincidentally the younger generations Ive gotta to know, can't even sit still as long as I did as a kid. It's worse. 5 minutes at best before they need to stop

From my time as a baby, and watching 'advertising' evolve over the last 30 years. We went from having a few commercials every 15 minutes, to being bombarded by more 30 second ads in a row than actual watch-time of whatever short form content you are addicted to today.

I'm enjoying black clover so far, it's just light shonen action type stuff. It hits all the stereotypes you'd expect and kinda lands in the ranking as "something you watch while you wait for something better to come out" I think it primarily suffers from trying to fill TV airing schedules.

I feel like I spend as much time shuffling around and skipping around as I do actually watching the show. If the show itself was like 10 minutes longer, with story meat, not more recapping BS, it would be exponentially more engaging and likable.

It feels low budget, like a project they just worked on quickly to keep everybody paid while they waited for a project to come in that they cared more about. And it watches the same way. You watch it to pad time while you wait for something better to come along. 5/10 "Good enough" -Somebody's Dad

The episodes are ~24 min a piece which is already short compared to most "better" shows, and you skip about 5 minutes of recap and intro to start. There is usually at least 2-4 minutes of recap happening where commercials would normally go, and another ~3 min at the end for credits and outro.

So like half of the show is recap and OST, and you get like 12 minutes of actual "show" in every episode. It really has that 4kidsTV kinda feel to it. I don't know how else to describe that. I'll bet as a Saturday morning show 15 years ago it would do great, but as something to stream it's awful.

A thought popped into my head and suddenly I understand alien probing. For the longest time I could not understand what the obsession was with butt probes and aliens. Why probe people. Why butts. Aliens don't see us as human the way we do. We see being human as being individuals.

Now put an alien vet in a room with a petrified human, all wriggling and naked, very aggressive and loud. Can't keep the thing still and can't risk injecting it with alien substances, so in goes the finger for some dookie real fast

Wheras an alien would likely see humans in a similar vein as to how we see cows as cows and birds as birds. But dogs maybe have souls? Aliens be like, humans maybe have souls? Or humans are cow. Animal, predator, livestock.

That being said. The specialists they send to study us, would be??? VETERINARIANS. They would send vets not medical doctors. And you know what a vet might do to analyze an animals health? Take a stool sample. Lot to be found in dookie.

How do we know for certain, that all light travels the same speed, when the speed we think it travels is already imperceptible to mankind? If different particles of light traveled at differing speeds, on a microscale likewise imperceptible to mankind, would that differing speed be seen in physics?

I see so often 'ex Google dev' when people are complaining about tech stuff, and it's always a different person, and I know Google has a massive crowd of employees, but I have to wonder... Do you think there are more people stealing valor from the military, or Google?

I wonder how much mass we would have to add to the moon to make it capable of maintaining an atmosphere, and what would happen if we just kept crashing asteroids into the moon until it reaches that mass. What would happen to Earth?

A project like that, and all of the technologies we would need to invent to get the job done, would catapult humanity the rest of the way into the space age. I can feel the glory and excitement of the people as confetti flies around everywhere when they cut the red rope to the moon taxi

Meanwhile we could delay that adventure, and go the Mars route, which seems like the timeline we are actually on, though I think it would take longer and be a lot less majestic. If we terraformed like 9 other planets before we ever got around to our own moon, would take away so much of the potential

The cool thing, is I believe we can already do the math on how much mass to add to the moon, and then likewise the math on how the moons increased gravity would tug on the Earth, as well as the maths on how the moons trajectory might change every time we crash a big rock into it.

Important things to know before we start, but god damn the idea of being able to look up at night, and see a big green blue ball of life right fuckin there in the sky. It would top every accomplishment, in every category, that any society has ever made.

I was just thinking about the majesty we would achieve if we managed to terraform the moon, rather than just building a bunch of domes there (Though I suppose you would do one and then the other regardless) The moon has water on it, and it's within an easily reachable part of space.
