A pincushion flower getting ready to bloom. Started with three small plants a couple years ago and now have a few dozen spread across my #garden. I like having a mixture or random #flowers that make my yard look more like a field of #wildflowers than purposefully cultivated. Great for #photography

Karrawirra Parri / Torrens River this morning. I still have a hard time calling this a river, having grown up near one of the world’s great rivers. #river #sunlight #nature #landscape #photography

Wow! I joined about a year and a week ago when I posted this photo from my fieldwork in the Sierra Nevada. I have enjoyed sharing my photos and seeing all the beautiful photos that all of you share. Thank you for the welcoming community here!

New to BSky, thought I'd start with a recent #photo I took while taking a break from field work in #Sequoia #NationalPark.

Early October snow in the Wasatch Mountains, Big Cottonwood Canyon. Last year almost to the day. hiked in the snow looking for Alta stock outcrops to sample with my gamma-ray spectrometer. Very interesting results, but I need to make another trip. #geology #mountains #fall #snow #Utah

A southern old lady moth found a bit of security in our house last night. A bird kept flying up to the window hoping to catch it. #moths #insects #wings #macro #photography
