Unlike previous approaches, this lets us capture many characteristic features of these sources, such as the heating of the buffer gas by freshly ablated molecules, across vastly different flow regimes in a single unified model.

By combining new magneto-optical trapping (MOT) schemes, optimized optical trapping, and coherent control techniques, our proposal could improve the sensitivity by several orders of magnitude compared with today's best experiments. Great work led by Tatsam Garg.

The catch? The most promising molecules have an exceptionally complex internal structure, making laser cooling, trapping, state preparation, and readout a formidable challenge.

💡 In our new preprint, we show how these challenges can be overcome. We develop and test in simulations a complete measurement protocol for these molecules, from laser cooling and trapping to quantum state preparation and the precision measurement itself. 📄 Preprint: arxiv.org/abs/2608.06138

certain molecules promise similarly powerful enhancements for detecting parity- and charge-parity-violating effects originating inside nuclei, allowing us to venture even deeper into nuclear structure and opening a new frontier in the search for physics beyond the Standard Model.

How much does the shape of dipolar interactions matter? ✨ New preprint! Using large-scale quantum Monte Carlo simulations, we show that the angular structure of microwave-induced interactions in polar #molecules reshapes the many-body phase diagram, not just the overall interaction strength!

Our numerically exact many-body simulations reach experimentally relevant system sizes, allowing us to distinguish equilibrium phases from metastable states created by the preparation protocol.

Freude, schöner Götterfunken! 🇪🇺 I’m thrilled to share that my research group will soon be supported by an ERC Consolidator Grant from the @ERC — my third ERC grant! 🎉 In this project, we will be working towards precision measurements of parity violation using cold #molecules.

Glad to share the news of our newly funded Special Research Area (SFB) of the @fwf-at.bsky.social. QNNECT will be a collaborative project on neutral-atom hashtag#quantum systems with high connectivity — spanning Rydberg atoms, atoms in cavities, magnetic atoms, and polar molecules.
