What our society is doing is the exact opposite of Asimov’s Laws of Robotics. We realized that harming humans is the short-term profitable use of AI and robots, so we prioritized AI’s use in weapons, hacks and scams.

I’ve said again and again that if there’s a violent civil conflict in this country, it’ll be Trump v. Vance, not left v. right. Right-wing morons on Twitter are now spreading theories about a conspiracy to oust Trump before Jan. 3. There’s one plausible target for that….

Phoebe Cates bit a Muppet in “Gremlins 2” and y’all didn’t say nothin’https://abcnews.com/amp/GMA/Culture/selma-blair-arrested-after-alleged-altercation-delta-flight/story?id=137202403.

What is up with the cotton this year? I always think of November as the month with fields that look like snow. And now everybody’s rushing out to harvest, to beat the hurricane, I guess. It’s the first week of October!

Please don’t buy our books on Amazon. If you can’t afford to buy them from a real bookstore or from us directly, pirate them from Anna’s Archive like God intended.

If Tuberville won’t debate Jones and the Alabama Supreme Court won’t rule on Tuberville’s residency, perhaps we should hold a series of public events in which regular Alabamians debate Tuberville’s residency.

Investors expect a big return from AI because it’s the biggest act of theft since Columbus. Stealing the intellectual labor of every writer, artist, musician and programmer who ever existed.

The Alabama Supreme Court could do the GOP a favor today by disqualifying Tommy Tuberville from running for governor. This would allow party leaders to nominate someone who isn’t in the back pocket of AI moguls, someone who cares about gas prices and doesn’t care about furries.

For those who say “no one has explained how AI would kill us all” I’d counter with “no one has explained how AI will make us all rich.” AI advocates say it will cure cancer or fix the climate — but where is the evidence AI is being used for this kind of research?

9/11 victim Michael Massaroli’s son: "You do my dad's legacy & the legacy of all victims no honor using this tragedy to spread hate. I've had to spend 25 years seeing people use it to hate on our Muslim brothers & sisters, people who don't look like them."

I’m so glad the GOP is pulling candidates off the campaign trail for a convention in which nothing will be decided, to tout messages that should have died in the primary, for an America that would rather watch football.
