I wish I could hit a button that says "hey, I voted already" and everyone would stop sending me text messages. I did. I voted. I probably voted for the people and causes you're texting me about. Please stop. For the love of all that is holy. End the madness.

@joyofbaseball.bsky.social I really enjoyed your interview with Joey Votto; thank you for sharing your conversation with us baseball fans! Question for you: which active player(s) (excluding those late in their career, like Freddie Freeman and Paul Goldschmidt) would you say is/are most like Votto?

He’s too concerned about what his fictional Massapequa voters Joe and Eileen Bailey would think

I think the problem is that, at this point, Chuck Schumer is just fundamentally kind of a bigot when it comes to Muslim politicians

@mollyknight.bsky.social i can’t recall if it was you tweeting about Pages and ABS or someone else

What a maddening season as a Red Sox fan. Yeah, they had their nice run in the summer, but they need(ed) some freaking bats!

As a Red Sox fan, I cannot stand how often NBC/Peacock cameras show random Yankee fans cheering in the crowd.

#Apple really needs to build some empathy into its software. My iPhone knows I follow the Red Sox, that they played a postseason game last night at 8 p.m., and that they got shelled. So, my Apple Watch should be smart enough to *not give me crap* about a bad night's sleep the moment I wake up.

Instead, my iPhone or Apple Watch should ping me, say, when I get settled at work (because it knows where I work), with something like, "Sorry about the horrible night of sports. Try to have a relaxing day today, and consider treating yourself to a nice coffee to help you through your day."

Of course opening night of hockey, which started at 5 p.m., would go to OT and somehow manage to overlap with an 8 p.m. baseball game #LetsGoCanes #DirtyWater

Rough break for Sale, who had a good outing. Left the game with the lead and two runners on and now could potentially get the loss. (Not that I'm rooting for Atlanta, I'm just a fan of Chris Sale when he's not on the injured list.)

Best part of this post isn't the catch (which is, of course, incredible). It's that game one of the 1954 World Series was on September 29!

Seventy-two years ago today, Willie Mays made “The Catch.” Flagging down Vic Wertz's fly ball in the expansive Polo Grounds outfield, the Say Hey Kid made one of the most iconic plays in sports history in Game 1 of the 1954 World Series.
