Inflation eating up worker pay. Household debt and student loan defaults at a record high. 8 million people have lost healthcare the past year. Thousands have been sickened by disease outbreaks and contaminated food. Trump says, "Pretend I'm on the ballot" ahead of the midterms. Please do.

Trump: "Please right your right hand. I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States. That loves us so much he can't even breath. That I will go out with my family, my friends, I'll do it any way - I don't care if I'm registered or not, I'm going to try to cheat like hell..."

Hasbro on DHS’ use of Optimus Prime in their deportation slop.

Today, we filed a FOIA request with DHS concerning an AI-generated image the @DHSgov X account posted this morning. The image depicts a Transformer facing a South Asian man, over a caption telling "Mr. Singh" to self-deport and get off American roads. We want the prompt.

Inflation is eating up worker pay. Household debt is at a record high — student loan defaults are too. 8 million people have lost healthcare the past year. Thousands of people are sickened by disease outbreaks and contaminated food. And Trump is focused on renaming Lake Ontario. Priorities.

"This swift wariness of ICE’s account is well-earned, given the agency’s increasingly documented acts of seeming deception and dishonesty, certainly when it comes to claims of 'vehicle weaponization' in particular, but more broadly as well. " www.ms.now/opinion/ice-...

ms.nowOpinion | ICE deserves skepticism of its account of Houston shootingJohn Pfaff: Wariness surrounding ICE’s telling of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo’s killing is well-earned, given the agency’s documented acts of seeming deception and dishonesty.

Elon Musk’s DOGE cut the federal government’s screwworm monitoring program, which cost $15 million. Now, the Trump administration is preparing to spend $1 billion to combat the screwworm outbreak. Never forget how destructive and downright stupid DOGE was.

E. Jean Carroll didn't just "accuse" Trump of sexual assault. She won a civil lawsuit against Trump for sexual assault. A jury found that Trump sexually assaulted her. She deserves for us to call it what it is.

I am NOT an expert an international law, but it does seem to me that a statement that "a whole civilization will die tonight" might possibly be evidence to support the intent requirement for genocide as defined under the Genocide Convention and similar treaties. www.ms.now/liveblog/ira...

ms.nowIran war live updates: ‘A whole civilization could die tonight,’ Trump says as deadline on Iran deal nearsU.S. airstrikes hit Tehran and a clash erupts outside the Israeli consulate in Turkey.

After watching the promotional video, it appears that #DLSS5 renders everything generic and it at least has the potential to interfere with the designer's intent. This is not a technology I am personally interested in.

Student loan borrowers are suffering because of Trump. The cost of living is sky high and predatory companies & billionaires are profiting off of borrowers’ hardship. We're pushing back in Congress, in the courts, & in community to defend borrowers.

19thnews.org‘The cruelty is just the point’: A broken student loan system has women at the centerConfusion, litigation and the threat of wage garnishment under Trump have left millions of teachers, nurses and other public service workers with few options and little hope.

The SAVE Act has nothing to do with stopping voter fraud. It’s a poll tax to stop legal voters from casting their ballots. It's how Trump is laying the groundwork to block certification of any election results he doesn’t like. Tell your senators to vote NO: (202) 224-3121 [@brennancenter.org]

Ludovic Mbock has been in US more than half his life, having graduated from a MD high school in 2006. It's unclear when/how he emigrated from Cameroon, but it's hard to imagine he was flaunting immigration violations while competing in Street Fighter tourneys for 12+ years across the US. End ICE.

Trump officials have blocked Minnesota law enforcement from accessing materials to investigate the death of Alex Pretti. They also refused to cooperate with Minnesota officials to investigate Renee Good’s death. What don’t they want the public to know?

I have a new post at Techdirt that is both a look back at just about everything I've written about Section 230 since its 20th birthday, and a crash course in how it works and why we need it.

This week Section 230 turned 30, and you'll see a bunch of posts on Techdirt today and the rest of the week about the importance of Section 230, but my first contribution this week is how the arguments against 230 are so contradictory that it should give everyone pause to consider why.
