started work on a new swamp map. does this look like anything? #gamedev #indiedev

i love splines. i try to use them whenever i can. can do some fun stuff with them. like making these annoying scarabs fly around. #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #indiedev

i usually use c++ with unreal engine, and was looking for some time to find the logic for one of the monsters. well, i found it, and it wasn't in code. #gamedev #indiedev

one anim blueprint node to make an enemy look at the player. adds a lot when the thing is so massive

new character coming to terralysia. this one is going to be broken in the best of ways #ScreenshotSaturday

looking good in unreal. not so pro tip: don't use the Sea node in Gaea, it exports a flat height where the water level is. without it you get the terrain sinking below the water getting nice gradients around the shoreline.

I was thinking, how can you create multiple islands on the same map? I don't love the idea of having multiple landscape actors. I'm trying something with @quadspinner.bsky.social's Gaea. An attempt to generate and position multiple islands on the same terrain. Next up, try to get this into Unreal.

Thank you anonymous! I don’t know who you are but I hear you and I will fix this (also you’re not the first to mentions this 😅)

I wrote an Unreal Editor extension that automatically snaps a spawn point to the ground after I move it slightly. I wanted to easily touch them up manually without worrying about precise alignment. And this folks is how you avoid making progress on the actual game.

i found a typo in my code comments that say "randly" instead of "randomly" and i'm probably not going to fix this one

@sidefx.bsky.social Houdini is pretty awesome for indies, too bad not more people know or make use of it. Here's the Labs platform tool taking these blockout boxes and turning them into sweet sweet platforms.
