The Saint Who Doubted

I am a refugee. A hopeless (lower case) democrat, a very unattached romantic, a lover of the eccentric and just. Ancient photography, ancestry, and jazz; all loved passionately.

If you are National Guard or Active Duty military and you are being ordered to violate the constitutional rights of US citizens then this is the number to the GI Rights Hotline. There is support. You don’t have to go through with it. 877-447-4487

'St. Paddy's Day' is usually preferred over 'St. Patty's Day.' 'Paddy' is the shortened form of the original Irish spelling of 'Patrick,' which is 'Pádraig.' 'Patty' is the shortened form of 'Patricia.'

Pence (the putz) thinks it's enough to say it and then delete it. It's too terrifying to think of the repurcussions if he left it up there and the grip the orange-tinged traitor has on his balls should tighten.

Mike Pence just deleted this tweet… weird!

#ProudBlue #50501movement Are you a U.S. armed forces veteran? Do you love a veteran and you’re concerned about the huge cuts to the VA? Raise your voice on 3/14 with thousands of protesters nationwide. Noon in DC, your state capitol or other cities. All are welcome! Indivisible.org

TCM offering up some thoughtful Women's Day fare last night. "Craig's Wife" an interesting story of one woman's overwhelming compulsion to maintain control of her household and those in it. "Merrily We Go to Hell" reminded me of the early lives of Lois and Bill Wilson and how grateful I remain.

There is a certain tit for tat justice in capital punishment that often, if not always, goes horribly wrong and should be denounced. Leave it to a flinty, down easter with a passion for the macabre to point out when it's justified. Mr. King, your serve sir.

Don’t know how you feel about Brad Sigmond being executed by firing squad in SC, but the report in THE GUARDIAN kinda glossed over the fact that he beat his gf’s parents to death.

Less than 48 hours later, the orange-tinged traitor "temporarily" rescinds his asinine "tariffs" aka #marketmanipulation Canadian Ambassador Bob Rae should liten to his own advice. Instead of capitulation, he needs to go elbows up. 🇨🇦

@lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com doesn't believe the orange-tinged traitor is going to go forward on implementing his tariffs threat. I think what Lawrence thinks.

I sure would like to know who has been buying the dips right before Trump announces he has changed his mind and reverses a tariff. Seems like valuable information in the markets to know when he announces a tariff and when he’s going to rescind it.

I'm gonna let you (just you) in on a little secret. I never really was what one would consider a true, dyed in the wool Dead Head until moving to Northern California four years ago. Listening to this soundboard recording of them in their youthful prime. Whoa. Jabra headphones - away! *chef's kiss*

VT Dead@dead2thecore.bsky.social

56 years ago, the Grateful Dead played and recorded the last of 4 nights at the Fillmore West. Recordings that made “Live/Dead” include “Death Don’t Have No Mercy”, “Feedback”, and “We Bid You Good Night.” #Deadheads

Before the gallows gets to being built, it's not as if I didn't like the Dead before coming out here. Besides, now that I'm ancient, I can enjoy them without all that twirling about business. *note: twirling about is not a bad thing either*
