What a pain it was, but this simple snow blending on top of other materials is making Vessels look so much better. #ue5 #indiegamedev #solodev Here are some additional bits of news regarding my game. More in the comments below.

Finally, as a solo dev releasing their first game by themself, do you have any tips? I'm working with UE5 and Steam for now. I'm open to other platforms, but Epic's recent shift has me rather disgusted. What do I need to know about releasing a game on Steam or just in general? Any tips will help.

The game will be getting a private demo through my Discord community. Instead of putting it on Steam and letting any random person get their hands on it, I've made the difficult decision to restrict how the demo is accessed. I will share more details on that in the future. discord.gg/QPDMnmDruR

The previous public demo will now be going private. I've heard the news of genAI decompiling and recompiling games, which scares me. Not that I expect my little game to be targeted, but I can't afford to let that happen. I've put 2 years into the game so far and plan to update it after.

Vessels has an official name. No, it is not Vessels, but the name has been set in stone. Vessels was planned to come out this month for a public demo, but life over the course of the last year has changed that plan a lot. I'm aiming for the end of this year just before the holidays.

While working on Vessels, I had to learn a lot of new things. Setting up lighting, fog, and other effects wasn't easy, but this particular view from the main menu gives me chills. It is still a bit rough, but reflects only a small work into the visuals of the game. #indiegamedev #gamedev

As I inch closer to getting it in a place where I think it is worth sharing, these are the first pre-demo screenshots of my game Vessels. I have been working on it by myself for almost 2 years. More information soon about the demo release date and the game itself. #indiegamedev #UE5 #unrealengine

Fellow indie game devs, where the hell are you all getting your sound effects? Searching for item pick up sounds, UI/button sounds, and puzzle complete/reset sounds is a pain in the behind. Maybe I'm being too specific with some of these, but some general sounds could help. #indiedev #gamedev

I got bored. Less then 2 hours in a fresh #unrealengine project and ball rolling from scratch. This was called Viscid Touch. It was very fun to figure out back then and it was just as fun now. This is a bit rougher, but some tweaking would make it perfect. #indiegamedev

A little late for the 7 year anniversary, but I've been feeling a little nostalgic for my first game Rollossus. Reflecting on it now, I'm proud of the work that we did despite the game being so small and simple. Maybe I will remake some of the work I did for funsies. #smallgamedev #indiegamedev
