Halloween candy is expensive this year, so I’ll just be handing out green jello on cottage cheese and lettuce as is the tradition of my people

Happy Pride everyone! This month is a reminder that I have been taught to love everyone. I am not here to turn away from or hate others. Rather, I am here to love and support everyone I can, especially the marginalized. Whether or not you celebrate, I hope June is a fantastic month for you!

Heard a great line yesterday in a graduation speech: “Success without integrity is just another form of failure.” Apparently it’s a paraphrase of this quote:”The supreme quality for leadership is integrity. Without it, no real success is possible" from Dwight D. Eisenhower.

I am Christian, so I believe in the Jesus who died and was resurrected, but I want my motivation to “go about doing good” to simply be out of love for Him and everyone on this earth (who are all brothers and sisters to me) regardless of what happens after this life.

Here’s one I need to better at, especially as it applies to those with whom I disagree: “You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason with your neighbor, lest you bear sin because of him”. (Leviticus 19:17)

Interesting verse in the Christian Bible - Leviticus 19:34 The stranger who sojourns with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Jesus said the first great commandment is to love God and the second (great) commandment is like it - love your neighbor. We realized he was saying the two commandments are parallel. They are both the great commandments for every Christian.

I am also grateful for all the amazing, beautiful people I have met (especially my wife) and all the amazing and beautiful people I have yet to meet on this wonderful planet, including my Bluesky friends.

It’s beautiful morning where I live today, so it has made me grateful. No matter how you believe this world came to be, it is an amazing and beautiful place! I am thankful that I have been able to spend many decades here, and I look forward to spending at least one or two more here.

Very saddened by the shooting and fire in Michigan. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I will not blame anyone. I will pray for the victims, their families and the family of the killer. I will work to forgive, and work even harder to spread and share peace.

In the fall I love seeing Froot Loop Mountains. We were driving the Alpine Loop in the Wasatch range. I was blessed to be there with my wife today! She took the pictures because she’s a better photographer than me.

My oldest daughter is graduating from Physician Assistant school tonight! This time I know how to feel - very proud, and very reminded of how capable and persistent she is.

My daughter is getting married tomorrow. This is definitely the right step for her, but I don’t feel anything yet, we’ve been too busy getting everything ready. We love her fiancé because he’s nice and he is great for her. Still, I don’t think I know what to feel.

Happy Easter! It’s happy for me because I celebrate someone who loved everyone, regardless of color or nationality or gender or orientation or age, and who served everyone, but especially the poor, the marginalized and the downtrodden. Someone, I want to emulate more.

I joined the Hands Off protest in the small but very red city of Idaho Falls in the very red state of Idaho and we had an amazing turnout. We had grade schoolers all the way up to retirees in there 70s or higher.
