Well, my kid is officially way cooler than me. They threw a rave in a tunnel. Planned it for months behind my back

i've recently heard that some ai bros want to make an smw central alternative because we don't allow gen ai content on the site. here's my direct response to those people. "who owns rom hacking?" and other questions ai poisons us with shoujo.gay/who-owns-rom...

that boilerplate code from code generators is still licensewashing code from repos like mine that got scraped wothout consent and attribution. i don't care how simple the code is, if it's trained on mine and i get 0 credit then that's still fucked.

I like seeing the dev of the SNES core on the Pocket actually telling one of these dudes off. Holy shit.

it's the middle of the night and I woke up with a good idea. now I can't sleep and tomorrow I won't be able to function

going insane because you traveled interdimensionally or met aliens or met god is understandable. but going insane because you used a computer chat program is just embarrassing

I found a very dried out onion in the back of the pantry. I tossed it outside, but Larissa was out there reading. Now she thinks dried onions are falling from the sky.

I made a 3D printed belt out of TPU for IBM Selectric typewriters. I'm trying a split design that can be glued together, but if that doesn't work I also made a normal belt.

I used the power of the One Ring. I recognize that it's evil, and I expect a lot of people to be mad at me for using it. Sorry! However, I plan to continue using it. Here's why: (1/62)

there's a way easier solution to this than banning mostly ai code, or banning ai code contributions it's banning the people who do them permanently once you verify that they're submitting code made through ai you just blacklist them permanently

Godot Engine@godotengine.org

For years we have been overwhelmed by the volume of code contributions we have to review, especially from new contributors. AI has made the problem much worse. That's why we are taking steps to reduce the burden on maintainers while still welcoming new contributors: godotengine.org/article/cont...

for anyone in need of stuff that hasn't been touched by digital asbestos or stuff that's actively fighting against it, check out codeberg.org/ethical-foss... for some alternatives. and also to see who's accepted the theft machines into their codebases.

People talking about switching to Linux to get away from Microsoft AI are not ready for how much AI slop there is in the Linux community. This shit is asbestos. It's fucking EVERYWHERE.

It's very much not a replacement (since by its nature various restrictions are imposed on images and audio) but #Decker is at least free from any gen AI nonsense, and the included dialogizer and puppeteer modules are pretty handy for making visual novels

cool paper arguing LLMs can be implemented as a shitload of goats in Age of Empires II... thus it'd be silly to assume / project human-like consciousness onto it

Matthew Sheffield@matthew.flux.community

This paper doesn't use the term "intentional stance," but it does really expose that imputation of consciousness is an act by the observer that's usually not based on dispassionate analysis of the observed's internal structures. It's just vibes, and those aren't sufficient. arxiv.org/pdf/2605.31514

I posted something about the joy of doing creative work, how the time spent is often of real value, and an AI bro said "You're just saying that to make a point." No, my friend, I've lived my entire adult life that way and I am older than VCRs.
