Last night, we went to see Clayface I thought it was. . . just ok? The lack of distinct visual identity brought it down for me. The performances were there, but I feel that they were shortchanged by a story that, while competent, relied more on plot momentum rather than organic character motivation

H3 pod was a regular pick-me-up in ‘22 & ‘23; that entire crew had an undeniable chemistry. After ‘23 the show became unwatchable to me because of, erh… obvious reasons and Ethan’s ensuing heel turns. It was inevitable that he’d torpedo it completely. Hopefully the og crew will carry on in some way

Soured on the game’s story and ending. So frustrating, because the gameplay gets the feel of wolverine exactly right. Photo mode also continues to be a blast

Shocked to come home to the news that Joshua Cassara has passed away due to heart complications. Every book he did just POPPED. His eye for detail and powerful figurework were proof that he put his all into every project he tackled. Condolences to his loved ones; rest in peace Joshua Cassara 🖤

Unfortunately have to confirm that the Wolverine game fumbles its story hard in the third act. Some baffling decisions made when it comes to these characters

Thumbing through my green lanterns back issues and came across a run of Green Lanterns from 2016, drawn by the talented Robson Rocha. An artist who passed away in 2021. A tremendous loss as he was well on his way to rightfully receiving the superstar artist recognition he deserved. RIP

Today’s Lanterns episode took a lot of big swings! Lots to unpack, and I’m not sure all of it works for me when it comes to how I know the characters from the books. However, the show is staying consistent to its own tone and vision

This hits like a ton of bricks. I wasn’t even that familiar with her discography, but she was one of those stars that always felt like extended family. RIP

Dolly Parton, the beloved global entertainment icon who sold more than 100 million records and whose songwriting prowess and sure-handed approach to her career reshaped the face of country music, popular music, and the entertainment industry at large, has died. 🕊️

Episode two of Lanterns continues to impress. As someone who used to read Green Lantern and áll its ancillary titles month in, month out: this show is a TREAT. Big props to the writers for respecting the zany lore and balancing it with a grounded setting

After 2011, you can’t blame anyone for being apprehensive about another live action Green Lantern project. But they seemed to have ceacked it with Lanterns; really awesome pilot episode. Chandler & Pierre leap right out of the comic book page as Jordan & Stewart

Went to see #TheEndOfOakStreet for date night and had a blast with it. Obviously very Spielberg coded, but there is a bite to the dino violence that goes a bit further than any Jurassic Park or World ever did. One moment in particular dropped our jaws.

Feels like a shark being jumped

The first-ever ‘STAR WARS’ and ‘MARVEL’ crossover comic book event is releasing in January 2027. • Written by Kevin Smith with art by David Marquez. • The story sees ‘A NEW HOPE’ take place on Earth-616 due to a reality-shattering spell. (via ew.com/star-wars-ma...)

I have read New Mutants #1 through #17 as well as the Magik mini-series, and have now arrived at the first Sienkiewicz issue. And even starting on that first page, Bill doesn’t play around!!!

I’m reading The New Mutants by Mcleod, Buscema, Claremont et al. Surprised how well it holds up and how invested I am in the characters. A single bronze age comic really was a whole ass meal back in the day too!

Obsession, what a thrill! An immediate perennial horror classic, due in no small part to Inde Navarrette’s phenomenal performance. Just well shot, acted and raw; going to the movies is for films like this!!!

My girlfriend’s gone and done it now!!! She made probably the best Jean Grey cosplay that I’ve ever seen! Check out her new post @ palepainter on IG, Based on Miguel Mercado’s artwork

Disclosure Day. Not boring! But, the earnestness of Spielberg’s thesis statement feels 20 to 30 years out of date. The film carries all of his worst boomer lib tendencies on his sleeve. By the film’s climax I even found those inclinations to be in poor taste considering the moment we are in.

I remember a time not too long ago where you could go to cons and get your books signed for free and strike up conversations with creators you admire. Now it’s $15 per signature and more commodification of *everything* What’s the end goal? Who will this hobby be for anymore?

Stoked to be heading to London for MCM comic con this weekend. Incredibly excited to meet Joe Kelly, the writer of some of the first US comics I ever read! The Dutch juniorpress editions of his X-Men run are still etched in my mind; more specifically X-Men #76 (the origin of Maggot!)
