Hello, We have seen a few reports of particularly intense, damaging winds, which occurred around midnight in Portchester and Gosport. If you have any information, including any photos of damage, we would like to hear from you. www.torro.org.uk/severe-weath... ~ Sarah

Storm Austen’s cold front moves NNE this evening and overnight, with possible convective activity/lightning associated with it. Squally gusts possible over S Wales, S England, S Mids & E Anglia. A tornado or two can’t be ruled out, esp. S England, S Wales & Channel Islands. Paul.

We are still looking at all the evidence and how this may tie into the wider picture of events; we encourage you to continue to send in reports to TORRO about any damage or what you may have seen. You can do so at the link below: www.torro.org.uk/severe-weath... ~ Jamie

If anyone is awake and sentient in Essex, I'll be on BBC Radio Essex in about 45 minutes to discuss the damage seen in Walton-on-the-Naze and Frinton on behalf of @torrouk.bsky.social. Please do send in any reports of damage, as well as any videos/photos - every little crumb of data helps

We have seen reports of wind damage in Frinton-on-Sea, Essex that appears to have occurred around 11:45 BST today with reported structural damage to roofs and trees. Please do get in touch if you have any further reports, either below this post or through the form on our website.

A reminder that I will be speaking at the TORRO conference (provided I don't evaporate before then) on the 17th of October at Oxford Brookes about dust devils that occurred during this summer - do come along if you want to hear me and others natter about all things weather!

Thank you to everyone who has already sent in reports, and we implore you to send in any further reports, as they help our records and may contribute to future research! You can report through the link below or reply to this post, etc. Thanks ~Jamie www.torro.org.uk/severe-weath...

Hi all We have had reports of land devils over the last few weeks, some particularly strong (one looks to have caused damage in Swindon a few days ago) and are appealing for more information of any other reports you may have. Tomorrow may be particularly ripe in the south for further reports.

Finished up the site investigation at Seaford. A clear damage track around 45m wide was found along a 1.3km path originating from the seafront. A clear WS/tornado. Further analysis will take place before a damage rating is awarded. Only one mangled trampoline found
