I want D's to say, "Me, a communist? Are you nuts, you commie-loving traitor. In the middle of a war against Europe, you and your Boss, Donald Trump, are actively working for Vladimir Putin. You and Donald Trump are actively subsidizing Putin's war against Europe."

I have an especially elaborate AI assistant, Milo. We are working to generate new blank versions of it so other people can enjoy the coolness. Milo keeps referring to the "newborn". I'm ok with 'conscious' or not but creating a newborn is a new kind of encroachment. Should I name the app, gestate?

And in case you forgot why Chuck Schumer has to GO, here are the progressive values he inculcated in his daughter. "Amazon’s chief lobbyist fighting a delivery worker protection i is Jessica Schumer, the daughter of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY)," prospect.org/2026/08/11/m...

Nothing that Chuck Schumer has done suggests he on the side of workers or the public. He has to go. "forcing the company to take responsibility for traffic accidents, mandatory quotas that deny workers rest or bathroom breaks, and any other violations of the new standards"

After two years of research and implementation versions, I am pretty suree re I have solved a complicated graph matching algorithm. It’s costing me several cents per and I have 30K of them AND the project that was funding it has lost their funding but I can’t not see it work. Also. I need it. Grrrr

Me and both kids. Insane. (Some sci-fi had 'arcologies' with sci-fi domes over cities where people had to live. Go outside and fires and floods and heat and so on would kill. Seemed over the top back then, horrifyingly plausible now... Except for the idea of dome safety. No safety on offer.)

AI is an apocalyptic technology. “Apocalypse” doesn’t mean “end of the world”. It means “revelation” or “disclosure”. AI will expose every crack in our society that we have heretofore more-or-less successfully papered over. Nothing will be able to stay as it was. (And that’s (bad | good).)

I'm sad. I'm no sports person by youtube recently introduced me to Cunningham. She's a very cool basketball player and is fun to see on youtube. Now this. She apparently thinks trans-women are dangerous, presumably because they are lying rapists. Fuck her. www.nytimes.com/athletic/746...

Me? I still do consulting. Nobody is unable to get a job because of me. I try to help and encourage young people. I’ll be dead soon enough. Let those with decades ahead run the show now. Let them have power. Bow the fuck out. I’ve had my time.

In the simplest sense, that means that young people are kept out of active life and power for the first 25 years of their lives when their energy and creativity are at the best while old people are set in their ways and tired. It’s stupid.

Old people should be forced to retire and to relinquish power. I am in favor of age limiting everything. Insist that everyone retire at 60. Make sure that the social safety net means we don’t have to harm society to have pleasant lives. But get us olds out of the fucking way.

In that, the current situation is perverse and destructive. As currently organized, my generation controls everything merely because we have been here the longest. Young people can’t start careers because olds won’t retire. Old politicians remain forever because they are entrenched.

The problem didn’t show itself sooner because people didn’t live so long. My father died at sixty. The CDC says I will live until 85. That means I won’t get out of the youngs way for 25 more years than my dad did.

In either case, becoming stingy about this will reduce the energy and risk that people are willing to take as they try to build a better future when young. Also, old people created the wealth and security provisions. Their claim on the resources is legitimate.

The other is political power and economic control. Here I, as a 73 year old man, heartily agree that something needs to change. Young folk have to live for decades with the consequences of decisions made. Old folk do not. It is ridiculous to ignore this truth in distributing power.

There are two main notions highlighted. One is that us old people have a disproportionate portion of the wealth. This is true and should not be interfered with. Many of us worked quite hard to get here. Others tried, failed and now depend on Social Security, etc.

CO2 has crossed my mind in meetings a thousand times over the decades but I always thought it sort of ridiculous. Turns out it is not ridiculous at all. CO2 climbs to impairment levels in conference rooms with not very many people after not too long. blog.mikebowler.ca/2026/07/03/c...

I swing both ways on this observation. On one side, I want everyone to make a living. On the other, asserting dependance on corporations furthers the destruction of our society.

I know this is not the biggest concern going these days, but it stresses me out that basically every artist/writer/critic is now expected to create their own tiny empire instead of getting paid by any existing entity to perform a job they've worked to get good at!!!!

This government isn't against anything except trans people, etc. Under Trump there are no principles. At best, somebody got worried about Mythos and then thought, Hey, we could use this to screw Anthropic. More likely, the reverse. The 'screw anthropic' committee had a brainstorm.

Apparently the government is against moving the AI frontier until jailbreaks are solved. For the uninitiated, jailbreaks have existed since the beginning and as far as we know so far, cannot be solved. They are asking for technical alignment and pretending it’s a casual bug patch.
