Update on 41313: One of its injectors failed today, forcing it to be pulled from service after not even making it to the platform at Horsted Keynes on only its first run of the day. Obviously, it’s not safe to run any steam locomotive with a failed injector, even if it has 2 and only 1 has failed.

forcing the fire to be dropped to prevent a firebox fusible plug and crown sheet failure and subsequent boiler explosion. So it’s a simple fix, but still a very wise decision to withdraw 41313 for the rest of the day.

It definitely seems to be a problem that can be fixed overnight though. Failed injectors are very common on steam locomotives, but again, they can be very dangerous failures because if not enough water can get into a steam locomotive’s boiler, it’ll eventually run dry,

Welp, Ivatt Class 2 Number 41313 has failed. Cause of its failure is currently unknown, but the timetable’s now about 20 minutes down. Thankfully, it was double heading with 80151 at the time, so the latter was about to push the former into Horsted Keynes.

Raptordogs update: In terms of the crowdfunding campaign, I've realised that I can't just sit around and wait for the grass to grow. If I want Raptordogs to become reality, and soon, I'm going to have to start putting some of my own money into it as well, and I will do exactly that.

Using my own money and the crowdfunded money, I will soon be making a start on building some of the miniature sets, with the first one I'll be building being the cliffs of Beachy Head, where Kennelbase is located.

I'll also be joining a local model railway club to help improve my modelling skills, not just for Raptordogs, but for when I eventually get around to building my own professional model railway layout as well. Watch this space over the next few months to see the progress on the cliffs miniature set.
