I have started the switch over to the backup site.

TransSee@transsee.bsky.social

Upcoming service reduction: From Tues Oct 13 to Sat Oct 17 TransSee will switch to the backup site while the main server gets a new home and a CPU upgrade. During this time tracking history and predictions based on past travel times will be unavailable.

I plan to switch to the backup site on the evening of Wed, Oct 14th and hope to restore service as soon as the afternoon of Fri, Oct 16th.

The option for one week premium has been temporarily disabled and existing premium users will have their time extended once service has been restored.

New Feature: For users outside Canada and the US a link to the supported transit agencies for your country will appear at the top of the homepage.

New Agency: TransSee now supports Nuuk Nuup Bussii in Greenland including tracking history, predictions based on past travel times.

@transsee.bsky.social Could you add support for Nuup Bussii in Nuuk, Greenland? It looks like there are schedule and real time sources for them.

Updated Agency: Montreal exo has been updated add support for buses, including tracking history, predictions based on past travel times and detours.

On the morning of Sat, July 18th TransSee recorded its 2,000,000,002th trip, on Austin Capital Metro route 383-Research. I've working on upgrading the identifier to a 64-bit integer before I run out of numbers.

I have added tracking for the TTC subway and some reports are available for premium users. Also Line 5 Eglinton is also available, but it is unreliable.

New Feature: For Toronto TTC Rapid Transit lines 1, 2 and 4 there is a new prediction source so approximate vehicle locations are available. I will work on tracking vehicle locations and generating performance reports.

New Feature: TransSee now records recently visited stops in browser local storage, allowing you to go back to them with the "Recent Stops" drop-down. If you are on a prediction page, you can add the stop to your prediction list. You can also pin stops to prevent them from being deleted.

New Feature: For Canada and the US, TransSee now gathers local precipitation from Environment Canada weather radar and uses it as a factor in predictions. The recorded values can be seen in the Trip Path pages.

New Agencies: TransSee now supports 30 new systems in British Columbia that are part of BC Transit with predictions by past travel time and vehicle tracking.

New Feature: Prediction, Route Vehicles and Fleet Search now update without reloading the page. Also the prediction page will initially load without prediction based on past travel times and then update when they are calculated.

New Feature: I have added more details to the trip schedule page, like total distance and average speed, as well as time, distance and speed between stops.

I have added real-time predictions for Toronto TTC Line 5 Eglinton Crosstown, but not vehicle locations and added schedules for lines 1 to 4.

I got the route vehicle locations show the correct vehicle locations for Toronto TTC but not the right branch.

Real time data for the Toronto TTC is down. Looks like it's giving a different error this time.

New Feature: TransSee will now display the pickup and drop off method or if there is no pickup or drop off for stop predictions and trip schedules.

Aodhagán@kawarthatransiteer.bsky.social

@transsee.bsky.social Could you add a feature that shows pick-up and drop-off restrictions for stops (the 'pickup_type' and 'drop_off_type' fields in the stop_times.txt file) on trip schedule pages and stop predictions?

With severe weather, checking the route vehicle locations might work better than using predictions. Detected detours appear for the Toronto TTC.

TransSee is generating the real-time info screens for this facility.

Now Open: Passenger Amenity Building at the Pawtucket-Central Falls Transit Center! @govdanmckee.bsky.social, the FTA, state, and municipal leaders joined RIPTA today to celebrate the opening of the building which features restrooms, seating, and real-time info screens.

New feature: TransSee now shows unscheduled detours for the Toronto TTC detected by Transit App. Detours should appear within an hour after they go into effect. Premium users can view past schedule data to see a history of detours.

TransSee now supports GTFS Trip Modifications, which is an standard method of describing detours, starting with Kitsap Transit. I believe it is the second app to support it after Transit App.

TransSee is be visible in the Google Play Store again to help people discover it. I recommend using your mobile browser, but you can support TransSee by installing it and giving it a review.

This is the Bluesky account for TransSee. I will post news and announcements for TransSee here. I follow the official accounts of transit agencies that TransSee supports.

You are up to date.
