Dev log #33 I received some feedback yesterday that the new guided path is useful for beginners but more experienced users still wanted the randomness and variety. I am pushing a new updating bringing that back as an option! Building for my users is my main priority! #Shiapton #BuildInPublic

Dev log #22 I just launched V2 of ArtLevelUp! Now I added a smart art coach that gives you daily exercise recommendations and guides you through the different art skills! So excited to make this update after it was requested by multiple people! #Shipaton #BuildInPublic

Dev log #21 I noticed almost everyone was skipping the tutorial in ArtLevelUp. I'm spending today rebuilding it into a guided tutorial that actually takes you through the app and visually highlights the elements. I think increasing clarity is a good target. #Shipaton #BuildInPublic

I really don't get why people use AI images in anything. It looks extremely ugly AND it instantly makes everyone hate your brand. And the people that don't care that it is AI also wouldn't care if there was no art to begin with. No reason to ever use it. What do you think?

Dev log #20 Started working on animations now! I want the app to feel like a really premium experience and adding smooth animation all throughout will hopefully make it satisfying and fun to navigate and level up your art skills. #Shipaton #BuildInPublic

Dev log #19 Added smart daily recommendations to the app! I really didn't want to use AI for this, so it's a simple algorithm instead. I named the coach after my boyfriend's dog ๐Ÿฅฐ The recs follow a difficulty curve and will also include free draw days! #Shipaton #BuildInPublic

Dev log #18 Wanted to share this WIP UI for the guided practice feature! The app will give you smart recommendations everyday and guide you through each skill in order so you can improve your art. #Shipaton #BuildInPublic

Dev log #17 After receiving lots of feedback on ArtLevelUp about having a more guided experience I have started work on "Questlines". This new feature will take you through a guided program so you can focus on your line control before tackling values and so on! #Shipaton #BuildInPublic

Dev log #14 Another small update has been pushed for iOS and Android! Again some small bug fixes and speed improvements. This version is what I consider to finally be a stable, snappy, bug free release! Now I started working on the next steps: animations! stay tuned #Shipaton #BuildInPublic

I really wish I could build a community of artists that practice art every day. I launched my daily drawing quest app last week and I am looking for artists to try it out. Giving away free lifetime memberships to anyone who asks in exchange for brutal feedback! ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฆ

Dev log #10 Working on version 1.1.0 now. It contains the sharing feature, ability to download images, password reset and various bugs and fixes. Received some wonderful feedback which makes me super excited to keep on improving ArtLevelUp. #Shipaton #BuildInPublic

Dev log #9 I actually got slightly side tracked because I just started drawing a lot and logging it in my app. It's quite fun. Also been gathering feedback from other artist friends and it's been very positive! Looking forward to adding some more improvements soon. #BuildInPublic #Shipaton

Today I want to give away 10 FREE LIFETIME memberships to my gamified daily drawing app! I am preferably looking for other artists to try it out and give me some feedback. Let me know if you're interested! The app is available on Android right now and iOS should be live by next week.

Dev log #7 Been working on some sharing features today. Because the app is quite visual and it relies on giving the user a sense of progression I thought it was natural to have an easy way to share your logged entries on social media. I'll post some screenshots soon! #BuildInPublic #Shipaton

Dev log #6 I just finished building and testing version 1.0.1 which contains a few minor bug fixes and improved responsiveness. The app should feel snappier now! Apple wanted some extra info which I provided today and now I'm back to waiting for their approval. #BuildInPublic #Shipaton

Dev log #5 ArtLevelUp is live on Android!!! Would appreciate anyone trying it and giving feedback! Apple submission got rejected again and they requested a video and more instructions so I will be working on that today. Super excited for this! #shipaton #BuildInPublic #solodev

Dev log #4 Today I implemented some more features into the Progress screen. Now the practice heatmap is interactive and you can see all the quests and achievements you have unlocked at a particular date. Otherwise still no response from Google or Apple about the app review :(

Dev log #3 I noticed that during testing most of the quests were common and rare. Today I am implementing a pity system. This should fix variety! It's also the perfect change to make while waiting for app review as its fully backend! #BuildInPublic #Shipaton

Dev log #2 Apple's submission sadly got rejected due to missing EULA in the description Luckily no new build was needed and I submitted again. Google still awaiting. Made some website changes but otherwise just waiting for the apps to go live now ๐Ÿคž #BuildInPublic #Shipaton

I am participating in #Shipaton 2026 by @revenuecat.com! I am building a gamified daily drawing practice app that makes it rewarding to stay consistent ๐Ÿ‘พ As someone who is passionate both about art and about programming, I am beyond excited to #BuildInPublic and ship ArtLevelUp!

Dev log #1 I want to start doing daily dev logs related to the #shipaton Today I submitted my app to App Store app review! I created some professional looking app store images. Now both Android and iOS are under review. Fingers crossed both get accepted ๐Ÿคž #BuildInPublic

Im so happy with how the achievements turned out. It was really fun to make all the pixelart. I wanted to add 5 different tiers for progression: bronze, silver, gold, emerald and diamond. Each with their own color coded art.
