Last day in New York. I have concluded that the suburban (and smaller) life is for me. I love visiting these places of diversity and energy. But when it comes to everyday living, I prefer the quieter life where I can drive on my own and have more elbow room. Thanks for the great visit!

Visiting #NewYork for the week. Checked out Hiline Gardens and the 9/11 memorial. Wall Street and Trinity were ok. Despite Dunkin Donuts being as ubiquitous as ABC in Hawaii, the #donuts this west-coaster is used to are not to be found. Where are the #maplebars?!?!?

Haven't done BSky for a few months. Following the election, I just quit any sort of news media. Even including the "satire" ones like the Daily Show and SNL. I find myself at a remove. Curious if I can do BSky but avoid the news world. Ignorance is bliss.

The real gem in Jordan Kleppers “Between the Scenes” (youtu.be/t1CoYEMzq8k?...) is his mini essay on “Crisis of Confidence”, starts at 1:20. If you ever wish you could just someone’s mind (a child, a parent, someone of a different political bent, a different religion, whatever), watch.

Made it out to the Oregon Coast last week. Love the beaches there. Anytime of the year.

Finished Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett this weekend as well. Look forward to seeing what the next two parts in this series have to offer. Has a bit of a Mistborn vibe, but not a copycat at all.

Finished watching Broadchurch this weekend (the BBC version). Good stuff. I seem to like just about everything David Tennant is in.

Every business process/practice you create will follow a lifecycle of at first enabling you and eventually enslaving/restricting you. You know it's crossing from one phase to the other, when the cost of replacing the process is deemed prohibitive. Keep your processes replaceable.

The results of my investigation are shocking. If data brokers can help extremists target misinformation to patients at Planned Parenthood, right-wing prosecutors in red states could use that same information to put women in jail. Protecting Americans' private health data has never been more urgent.

Watching the final season of Bull. I’ve enjoyed this show. The trial science story is basically a laboratory to explore some of the shared dilemmas we’ve faced in society in the last decade.
