I was raised on the radical right. Then I re-read Adams, Paine & Jefferson in their own words. They explicitly warned that concentrated wealth buying political power would destroy the Republic they built. Two hundred and fifty years later — we are fighting that evil.

Frank Freeman's case that the Founders' pursuit of happiness — John Adams' "ease, comfort, and security" — demands liberty, equality, and economic justice.

From John Adams' Thoughts on Government, April 1776: "Laws for the liberal education of youth, especially of the lower class of people, are so extremely wise and useful, that, to a humane and generous mind, no expense for this purpose would be thought extravagant."

Said in 2008 or 1837? Put your answer in the comments. Extra credit for who. “These capitalists generally act harmoniously and in concert to fleece the people; and now that they have got into a quarrel with themselves, we are called upon to appropriate the people's money to settle the quarrel."

Spent the night writing for Maine. Worth ending on John Adams. 1780, Massachusetts Constitution, in his own hand: Government exists for the safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people — not for the profit of any one man, family, or class. Still in effect. Still waiting on us. trueamericanism.org

trueamericanism.orgTrue Americanism — Fulfilling the Promise of the FoundersTrue Americanism returns to what the Founders actually meant by the pursuit of happiness — John Adams' "ease, comfort, and security" — and makes the case that liberty, equality, and economic justice are the fulfillment of America's founding promise, not a departure from it.

"All Property superfluous to such purposes is the Property of the Publick, who, by their Laws, have created it, and who may therefore by other Laws dispose of it, whenever the Welfare of the Publick shall demand." — Benjamin Franklin to Robert Morris, Christmas Day 1783. TrueAmericanism.org

"That government is best which governs least." Jefferson never said it. The line traces to Thoreau, 1849 — 23 years after Jefferson died. Jefferson supported public education, the Louisiana Purchase, federally funded exploration, and progressive wealth taxes. The libertarian Jefferson is a fiction.

Government exists for the common good — for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people — and NOT for the profit or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men. — John Adams, Massachusetts Constitution, 1780 TrueAmericanism.org

Liberty isn't just the absence of a master. It's the presence of dignity. Not theoretical rights on paper — practical possibilities in the real world. A shot at a good life for everyone. Not just those with a silver spoon in their mouth. That's what the Founders meant. TrueAmericanism.org

Our representatives should have calluses on their hands, not their hearts. Instead we get soft hands and callused hearts — bought before they announce, funded by billionaires, voting to take food from hungry children. The Founders called this aristocracy. TrueAmericanism.org

Musk. Page. Ellison. Three people. Combined wealth: $1.2 trillion. At median income that's 30.7 million years of human labor. 30.7 million years of stolen labor. Jefferson called this aristocracy. He proposed the remedy in 1785, tax the fuck out of their wealth. TrueAmericanism.org

In 1992 James Carville said 'It's the economy, stupid.' In 1776 John Adams said government exists to secure ease, comfort and security. 250 years apart. Same answer. Corporate Democrats keep forgetting

938 billionaires hold $8.2 trillion. Sanders wants a 5% tax. They call it radical. Jefferson proposed taxing wealth at rates that ACCELERATE the higher you go (Progressively) in 1785. This was before France collapsed under inequality. Four years later: the French Revolution. Who's the radical?

Before the "isms," there was the Social Contract. The Founders designed the Republic for the General Welfare—defined as Ease, Comfort, and Security for the people. Stop the Great Diversion. It’s time to fulfill the original promise of the Pursuit of Happiness. 🇺🇸 TrueAmericanism.org

We forget that the Founders designed America for economic security, not oligarchy. John Adams defined the Pursuit of Happiness as 'Ease, Comfort, Security' for the greatest number. This isn't socialism. It's the Founder’s vision . Free download. Read what they actually wrote. TrueAmericanism.org

The Founders listed 'Standing Armies without Consent' as a crime of King George. In 2025, ICE detention expanded 91% while arrests of people with NO criminal record surged 2,450%. Congress was denied access to facilities. This isn't border security—it's tyranny. TrueAmericanism.org

Madison, 1792: government must use "the silent operation of laws" to "reduce extreme wealth towards mediocrity, and raise extreme indigence towards comfort." The Father of the Constitution. Not a radical. Not a socialist. A Founder. #TrueAmericanism

Samuel Adams, 1780: "If ever vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." He wasn't predicting. He was warning. We weren't listening.

A billion dollars = 25,000 years of human labor. One person. 25,000 lifetimes. That's not success. That's extraction. The Founders had a word for that level of accumulated power over your fellow citizens. They called it tyranny. Learn more at TrueAmericanism.com

Adams envisioned government as creating an environment where the masses could attain ease, comfort, & security. The only thing standing in our way to make this happen is ourselves. We must strip away corporate control that would enslave us all, give the Ultra-Wealthy another dollar & absolute power.
