I shook your hand in Codman Square park a few weeks ago and said 'Thank you for your service'. I thank you again for this... this... remarkable eloquence, Mayor Wu. You make this lifelong Bostonian very grateful.

We live during a time of utter absurdity, spectacle, and commodification - narratives spun through machines of algorithmic propaganda that is incredible to observe and offends us deeply, and we feel powerless in its face. Yet to face absurdity we must address it with sincerely.

We should not feel compelled into complicity, Instead we must accept what we cannot change and focus our energies on the people and things we are able to have a meaningful impact on.

(contd.) while a hallucination is a thing someone believes they can see, hear, or smell that doesn’t, in fact, exist (“the sound of glass shattering in the next room turned out to be a hallucination brought on by lack of sleep") - Should we even use anthropomorphic terms describing AI phenomena?

I don't post much but I'm a therapist and have been working in addictions/mental health since 2010. I've been following the rise of AI with concern, and have recently brushed against it up close with a client's loved one hospitalized d/t psychosis resulting from ChatGPT When is enough, enough?

Acceptance and commitment to change. On this day I invite others to accept the things they cannot change, find the courage to change the things they can, build and listen for the wisdom to know the difference.

You are up to date.
