Managed to get locked out of the home I’m sitting for. Just me and the corgis, sitting outside staring at a locked door 😅😅 Thankfully, she had a spare hidden but it was a panic inducing hour and a half. We are so far away from civilization that getting a locksmith out was a problem.

RAV4 is officially FIV/leukemia negative and got his first vaccines with our local HSPCA I’ve gone ahead and scheduled his boosters and neuter appointments because they book out months in advance for surgery. Just in case we can’t find him a home. He’s a very chill and sweet guy 💕💕

The ladies at the HSPCA kept raving about him and even sent him home with a toy. I honestly can’t believe no one wants this kitten. 😭😭 He handled the car ride like a champ and is just as adorable as the day is long.

RAV4 went to our vet and was proclaimed “very healthy”. He’s about 6-8 weeks old, got some dewormer and flea meds, and will going to the HSPCA vaccine clinic next week for vaccines and bloodwork. Our vet recommended we go there because she can’t beat their prices - she’s a great vet and we 🧵

truly appreciate her. We really wanted the kitten checked over before heading into the weekend just to make sure we didn’t miss anything. One of my friends surprised me with a Venmo that covered today’s vet visit and I’m so thankful. RAV4 is still quarantined from the other cats but he’s in

My son’s room tonight so he’s getting the full pampered house cat experience. Cats LOVE my son so RAV4 is in a good space. I’m still hoping we can find this kitten a good family - we are willing to get all of his vetting done first. In the meantime, we’ll just spoil him 💕

Morning update: The vehicle owners do not know or want this kitten. He was stuck in a RAV4 so I guess that’s what we are calling him for now. He’s heading off to the vet this afternoon for a check up and hopefully we can find him a good indoor only home.

The engine kitten. He’s safely quarantined away from the other animals and is resting quietly. Fingers crossed he belongs to the owners of the car - if not, we will foster and do his vetting until he finds a safe home. Not my home. We have so many already and not a lot of extra space

My oldest came home long enough to grab a cat carrier - there was a kitten stuck in a car engine at her job. The guys were able to get him out and now he’s coming home for the night until we can figure out where he can go.

So thankful I’m a stay-in-the-house type of house sitter. Got back from running errands yesterday and found a broken water pipe in the yard - it hadn’t been broken for long but it was definitely trying to flood the backyard. I called the owner and he told me where the well shut off was.

The plumbers came out this morning and fixed it very quickly, thankfully. Had I not been here full time I wouldn’t have been out walking the property to find it and the pump could have died. The dogs are annoyed that the backyard is squishy but at least nothing is permanently damaged

I’m going to attempt to brush this floofy old man today - he has a couple of snarly knots and those have got to go before they turn into mats. His owner says that Gibbs doesn’t really enjoy being brushed so we will do it in small portions with lots of cheese tax.

One of my friends referred me to a bookkeeping gig for her organization. I thought I had a good phone interview, which was confirmed a few days later by my friend telling me the interviewer called her specifically to rave about me. They wanted an in person interview, so we got that scheduled -

Something came up with them, and they said they would contact me to reschedule. I roll with it because things happen. I get it. Well. They just got around to letting me know they went with someone from the accounting firm. Which great, glad you found someone. But I am so disappointed. It was only-

Going to be a very part time kind of a job, but I was hoping this would open doors in the community to more jobs or whatever. I am SO sick of job hunting. Beyond sick of it. I enjoy the house/pet/farm sitting I’m doing but I’m not busy enough to cover my hay bill for the winter. I am frustrated

House/dog sitting again and this elderly gentleman has spent every day herding me around. His name is Gibbs, he’s 14-ish years old, and he is INTENSE. Very sweet and I adore him, but he is far more work oriented than my young heeler. So I let him herd me around the kitchen and the yard 😂😂

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, in a land far away…I was a doula 💜 This makes my heart so happy

Proud to announce that New York City has registered a record 4,200 New Yorkers in our doula care program.  Pregnancy and childbirth are life-changing moments. No one should be forced to navigate them alone.

I’m house/dog sitting for my friend for a whole month and a half. Might have to bring Monkey Moo with me because for the first time ever he was sleeping with his head on my chest. 😭😭😭💜💜💜 I would bring Sabo but he’s pretty boisterous and one of the dogs is super old.

I was supposed to have a job interview today. Nothing too wild - a verrrryyyyy part time bookkeeping job. But they just called to cancel and said they would contact me “later” to reschedule 🤷‍♀️ I’m hoping they do but I also know not to hold my breath

I planned to go see the new Spider-Man movie today with all three of my adult kids. One doesn’t want to go at all One wants to go with their romantic partner And the third is all, “if the whole family isn’t going should we even go?” Come hell or high water I’m seeing the movie today

My kids and I are going to go see the new Spider-Man movie tomorrow and I’m ridiculously excited. I love going to the movies and we rarely get to - it’s an expensive outing and we all are super busy at this point. So I’m happy we get to do this together tomorrow 💕
