We need a lexicon for these things so we can have alerts and autofixing

all the You Can See Everything spoilers here are really making me think we need a spoilers tag feature on bsky

Anyone have suggestions for what to run on a steam machine when not gaming? Is some kinda local LLM setup worth it?

I'm knocking on wood, but is anyone else taking notice at how well communities are beginning to organize?

there’s a shot inside the nest at UBC of Jeremy Strong where I quite loudly was the only person laughing. lmk if you figure out what the shot was.

there's a new stats section in chalky now because I wanted to share with y'all just how much I use this thing. this is also a rough number of the things that I would forget to attend to in a given month before I had chalky 😅

A sample list of the things I do now, but usually forgot prior to having this - brushing my dog's teeth - watering my plant - cleaning the apartment floor and I actually have a reference now for a way that I can feel like I have "caught up" rather than feeling drowned in responsibilities

It was an investment of time to make this interface, but now it just works and I don't plan to need much upkeep of it at all. The site is served from my home lab's coolify setup and no server is needed to sync the data, so offering this as a free service is very easy.

I've been taken aback by how much this little thing has had an impact on my life. All of my side projects, chores, and whatever else gets thrown in here and I just don't forget things now? It's weird.

nah, indeed

I've flip flopped on "should we explain atproto/PDSs to new users" and landed on "nah." No one knew how much of our digital lives would end up on a single platform when we first signed up for Facebook. At least with atproto they can figure it out later and migrate or branch out.

the TLD explosion is equal parts insane and awesome

Today is ICANN Reveal Day! 1,615 strings: .agent, .api, .agi, .ask, .auth, .bad, .bro, ... 481 applicants: Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, Cloudflare, Vercel, Squarespace, Airbnb, ... Gonna thread observations until I run out of steam

can someone please make a gif/meme keyboard for this? I'd like to add packs of gifs and memes from people I know. Maybe they use @meme-museum.at libraries?

Switched from Raycast to tinycast over a week ago and have really enjoyed it. The only issue I've hit is that the Spotify extension uses OAuth and got into a login loop, just stopped using it. - clipboard history - good search - Caffeinate extension - Calculator in the search bar - Emojis

we need a prediction tracker for all these NFL commentators that think they're the next Tony Romo

You ever pause on an unsettling frame, so to save yourself the jumpscare later, you unpause it for a moment just to pause it again on something else?

Did you know leaflet has a canvas? We recently got a bit carried a way and added a LOT to it. You can now: - DRAW! - add canvas pages to your publication - set view areas for mobile - make canvas images in posts - try it out at leaflet.pub/new-canvas check out this video for the full run down:

anyone know why the best option for "add to calendar" on a laptop/desktop is to download the ics file? we have mailto:, which no one uses, but no ical:// ?!

this change means I officially have no damn clue if you ever use chalky.town unless you say something about it. so good luck have fun I guess? :)

chalky.town uses the ATProto spaces alpha for private tasks now atproto.com/blog/atproto...

shake to undo does two things 1. Pisses you off when you sit down with your phone open 2. Makes you look dumb in public when you wish to undo something

Brookie made a zine* We wrote the stickie notes, but don’t let Brooke fool you. She made this awesome lil zine that everyone got a nice copy of thanks to crashspace.org

we made a zine at @atproto.la !! 📝👩‍🏫 these are some of the questions and discussions we shared at our atproto LA meeting today. lots of overlapping themes and ideas. sometimes it's nice to have open conversations and share how we're feeling about the internet and technology. thanks for coming! ⭐️
