Today, I am launching @connectwizard.app, giving you first time access to all the ASC data Apple has been hiding for years. Learn what users do on your app product page, and how they interact with your app system wide on a detailed framework level. apple.co/3ZsiEEZ #iOSDev

Some lovely person at Apple has since added bezels for the partially opened Duo. So exploreswiftui.com now has bezels for all six Duo states! Of course, I also had to tweak the hinge state example to match the exact angle of the new bezels. ✨ #iOSDev #SwiftUI

Does anyone know how to properly hide or deprecate a SiriKit Intent along with its CustomIntentMigratedAppIntent? Setting isDiscoverable to false hides the AppIntent, but then the SiriKit Intent shows up again. Conforming to DeprecatedAppIntent doesn't help either. Any ideas?

With iPhone Duo out now, the iOS 27.0 defaultTabBarPlacement modifier finally makes more sense. It lets you transition a TabView into a sidebar on Duo and Pro Max when in landscape mode. Learn more about it here: exploreswiftui.com/library/tabv... #iOSDev #SwiftUI

Unfortunately, something is off with this modifier. On certain screen sizes, like an unfolded Duo in portrait mode, the TabView moves into the sidebar, but there's no button to open it. iOS 27.2 breaks it completely, with no sidebar appearing at all on Duo: FB25285971

Another day, another Duo update! @whaledeck.app now supports iPhone Duo, comes with a built-in terminal for SSH access to servers and containers, and is now much faster, too! #iOSDev #docker

My first iPhone Duo update is out now! DriveDex is now optimized for iPhone Duo and all other large-screen devices. DriveDex also gains multi-window support on iPad and iPhone Duo, along with some under-the-hood performance improvements. Happy logging! #iOSDev #SwiftUI

No idea what happened to the SwiftUI team, but they've been cooking these past few weeks. Another feedback I filed regarding a years-old bug with an unreadable button in StoreKit views on tvOS has now also been fixed. Amazing!

Apple got back to me. visibilityPriority now seems to work flawlessly with 27.2 B3 😍 #SwiftUI

Although it’s Sunday, can anyone help my smooth brain figure out the new OS 27 visibilityPriority modifier? Shouldn’t 1 and 2 disappear first? #iOSDev #SwiftUI

Looks like the bottom corner radius has been fixed in the latest iOS 27.2 beta! 🥳

Things that keep me awake at night: the sheet corner radius on iOS 27. Can someone at @Apple please fix this? 😭 FB24902633 #iOSDev #SwiftUI

Yesterday, Apple updated the #SwiftUI documentation, and I found some cool and useful new additions! Here’s everything new 👇

Similar modifiers are available for Core Location (locationHeadingAnchor) and Core Motion (deviceMotionAnchor), letting us use SwiftUI views as reference points for location heading and device motion.

All in all, some handy new additions for Duo and HomeView, with ContentMarginGuide being my personal highlight. Happy coding!

The docs also include several new APIs for HomeView. Since SwiftUI can currently only be used on HomeView through widgets, Live Activities, and CarPlay, I’m curious to see how these new APIs will work in practice.

At WWDC, I told someone at Apple I’d love to have access to more of the defaults they use behind the scenes, including padding and margins. This feels like a step in the right direction, especially now that Duo is here and things are more complicated than before.

Next up: iOS 27.2 adds toolbarTitleAlignment, letting us override the automatic, context-dependent title alignment. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work on either a regular iPhone or Duo. FB25200141

We can also read these values with GeometryReader. For example, on iPhone 18, the horizontal content margins are 16 points. On Duo in landscape, they’re 20 points on the leading edge and 0 on the trailing edge, where space is reserved on the right.

There's finally an easy way to access and use Apple's built-in margins 🤤 No more hardcoded .padding(16) needed (which is actually 20 on the Duo, not 16 👀). More on that later. #iOSDev #SwiftUI

Your iOS widgets will most likely be available on HomeView, as suggested by the updated Apple Developer Program License Agreement: "You agree that Your iOS Application widget may be made available on CarPlay and Apple HomeView."

Apparently, HomeView only supports “compatible third-party audio and video apps,” so there’s not that much to tinker with as a developer. I’m not even sure if third-party widgets are supported, but I sure hope they are.

I'm genuinely shocked by how many devs are sleeping on Apple's own videos. Spending a few hours binge-watching all the new videos when they come out is the best way to stay up to date. Instead, people just occasionally watch (bad) knockoffs of these videos on YouTube. Huh?

This may be a silly question, but how the hell do I access stickers in the Xcode Simulator? I can't find any way to switch to stickers on the keyboard like I can on a real device. #iOSDev

For everyone currently using NavigationSplitView to optimize for iPhone Duo, you shouldn’t sleep on preferredCompactColumn. It controls how the view collapses into a single stack. Learn more about it here: exploreswiftui.com/library/navi... #iOSDev #SwiftUI

On iPhone Duo, the NavigationSplitView compact stack doesn’t reset after opening and closing the device. I don’t know whether this is intentional, which is why I filed FB25093711

With the growing number of assets, there is now a new Asset Library to manage everything in one place. There, you can upload new assets, submit them for review, and then use them without requiring any further review.

With Duo now supported, you can also upload dedicated assets for Duo. Additionally, you can now set a custom header and a search results asset. A new preview shows all your assets in place across different devices, orientations, and locations. Neat!

All these new asset types are also available for Custom Product Pages and Product Page Optimization. This means you can run A/B tests to see whether custom headers and search results assets improve conversion.

First of all, you can now submit apps optimized for iPhone Duo for review, as builds from Xcode 27.1 are now accepted. Starting in April 2027, iPhone Duo screenshots will be required.

Xcode 27.1 RC is out. However, overlayArrangementZIndex still isn't working for me. Has this ever worked for anyone out there? #iOSDev #SwiftUI
