Human cellular models of the brain to study #lipid homeostasis in #AlzheimersDisease and related dementias Sarah E. Heuer @heuerwego.bsky.social, Fasih M. Ahsan, Tracy L. Young-Pearse @typlab.bsky.social #ipscs link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Congratulations to TYP lab postdoc @heuerwego.bsky.social on being awarded a F32 NRSA Postdoctoral Fellowship through the NIA, titled "Identifying the cellular consequences of ABCA7 genetic risk in Alzheimer's disease." Looking forward to more amazing findings from Dr. Heuer's work!

We are excited to welcome Nalini Oliver to the lab! We are thrilled that she chose to join our lab for her thesis through Harvard's BBS program and look forward to working with her!

We are happy to welcome Julia Choi to the lab as our newest undergrad! We are also excited to have Arnab Misra and Cecilia Riordan-Bourges continuing their studies in our lab this summer as well!

Shoutout graduate student Olivia Pembridge who gave a fantastic talk on her work studying the role of VGF in excitatory neurons at the Annual ROSMAP conference and won the Martha Ondrey Jr. Investigator Award 🏆

Shout out to our fabulous postdoc @heuerwego.bsky.social who gave a great talk on her work leveraging iPSC models to uncover how genetic risk factors influence dysfunction in microglia in AD at the ACT Research Symposium hosted by the Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute! #ACT2026

Exciting science from our own Dr. Benoit at the Harvard Bipolar Symposium! Her poster on a population-scale single-cell atlas of peripheral immune cells in bipolar disorder highlights the growing importance of immune mechanisms in psychiatric disease. 🔬

Great to attend the BD² Funded Investigators Meeting in Fort Lauderdale with colleagues. We had inspiring discussions, established new collaborations, and the had the opportunity to share our work. We are grateful to be part of a community working to help individuals with bipolar disorder thrive.

We really enjoyed being guests on this episode. Huge thanks to the hosts for a great conversation and for highlighting our work exploring the role of POU3F2 in neurodevelopment!!

33rd episode of The Brain Podcast: Models matter: human-specific roles of POU3F2 and Wnt Signalling in neurodevelopment” @typlab.bsky.social I loved being a cohost on this one! Lovely guests and such a great discussion! open.spotify.com/episode/1sfN...

Thank you to Paul Tesar and Raeka Aiyar for including us in the inaugural Translational Glial Sciences Conference in the Institute for Glial Sciences at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. It was a great event!

Congratulations to Dr. Zach Augur, who successfully defended his PhD thesis on Friday!! Zach had an amazing defense which highlighted his incredible productivity in the lab, culminating in 3 first-author publications throughout his thesis work!

Honored to have our work featured!Huge thanks for highlighting our triculture Alzheimer’s model!

I’m a huge fan of the work done by @typlab.bsky.social - so it was great to have the opportunity to write a preview of their work describing an in vitro triculture model of Alzheimer’s (with @celarber.bsky.social & Tatiana). Check it out & go read their paper! www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

We are proud to celebrate Tracy as the recipient of the Harvard Medical School Clifford Barger Excellence in Mentoring Award! 🎉 Her guidance, encouragement, and dedication mean so much to all of us. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

Thrilled to celebrate our incredible undergrad Ellie Grogan, who was awarded the Harvard Hoopes Prize for her exceptional senior thesis! 🏆📖 We’re so proud of her hard work and insight, and a great time taking her out to dinner to celebrate! 🎉🍽️

With the support of Dr. Frank Ondrey, the RADC is pleased to present the Martha Ondrey Postdoctoral Prize to Sarah Heuer, PhD. Dr. Heuer presented on leveraging human stem cells to elucidate how polygenic risk affects cellular state transitions & communication networks in AD.

Tracy gave a great presentation at the 3rd Targeting Therapy of Alzheimer’s and Related Neurodegenerative Disease Conference in Chania, Crete! Huge thanks to Peter St. George-Hyslop, Li-Huei Tsai & Riqiang Yan for an incredible meeting. So many inspiring talks! #TargetAD25
