i keep picking easy reads so i can turn my brain off to read them but then i get annoyed when i can't suspend my disbelief or when i don't like the writing style so really i'm just doing this to myself

been rereading the percy jackson series for the first time in like 17 years and it's genuinely just so nostalgic and heartwarming, there are so many one liners and scenes i remember so vividly !! so many foundations of my mythology interest and ofc my percabeth shipper heart. what a formative series

i keep reading romance books and thinking the writing is too simplistic for me but then never feel motivated to finish my denser books and just go back to romance to have something light to read i think i am the problem
