I was there when he pushed against Apple and Google. I was there when he talked up the altruism of fighting these “behemoths” for other developers. It was as much bullshit then as it is now. You KNOW it was BS by the hours and money they poured into ridiculous anti-Apple cinematic.

This always was and always will be a petty shit-fit Tim threw because he couldn’t directly charge folks within his own app and had to share a cut with other services. Don’t get me wrong, it all sucks. But the goal was never altruism or industry betterment. Fuck Epic the company.

Gonna vent for a minute. We’ve got a kid that is often big drama. We’re working on that, but she’s expressive and emotional. Her teacher is retiring after this year. She made it to school, and all the way up until 245 was fine. Her teacher texts us “[Daughter] says she has a headache” (1/3)

Ok?? She’s fucking 8.5. 8 year olds do that sometimes. So, maybe use those decades of teaching skills to work with her a bit and see if you can help her contextualize her feelings and find some new perspective? And maybe she has already? Maybe they’ve been trying for like the last hour. (3/4)

“She wants to go home” So my wife and I talk and agree that a headache really isn’t enough to come home an hour before school is up and tell her teacher that it would be good for her to let her know that we think she can make it one more hour. We just get back “She’s crying” (2/4)

Two more weeks till the marathon (sans a day) and with the shin issue I basically lost three weeks. Gonna attempt 17 miles today. If I can, then I think I can handle the marathon on the 15th. Maybe I’ll record it.

So, I’ve got what looks like a shin splint like 4 weeks for my marathon. Not 100% sure what that means for the run. I can manage a decent run, but thirty minutes after my right shin on the inside is killing me and is for a couple of days. Going to PT, but man this sucks.
