“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.” Diary of Anne Frank January 13, 1943

I have always had a go bag in case we have to evacuate because of disaster, the animals also have a go bag and along side it is a cat carrier and a crate for the dog. I use the animals go back quite regularly when we travel. Recent events mean everyone should consider this.

I just want to shout at to all victims of CSA, the therapists and organisations that work with them and anyone else triggers and upset with the current discourse. I see you and you matter.

Facts: Motability is a charity with huge reserves making enormous profits from leasing cars many adapted to those in receipt of the higher rate of PIP. Disabled people have no choice but to use this monopoly as adaptations are expensive and specialised. It is expensive and restricted.

I promote autonomy, I spend my life giving people the confidence to be autonomous. So why am I against the Assisted Dying Bill? I think it runs the risk of removing autonomy, those that feel like a burden will act for emotional and financial relief of family. Palliative care needs reform first.

I am disabled with an incurable condition that is progressive. I am not sure I have a future, society has proven I am not wanted. Assisted dying, removing disability benefits, lessening accessibility rights are all realities. Health care, social care is failing. Yet I fight on, why? #disability

FYI if a therapist's website says they "follow the BACP ethical framework" or similar, that doesn't mean they are a member of BACP. You can check membership on BACP website. If qualified therapists choose not to register, the wording should be transparent, not misleading.

“Can’t you just rest more?” “I wish I could lay in bed all day!” “You’re so lucky I wish I didn’t have to work!” “Why are you tired you don’t DO anything?” These are the types of comments disabled people deal with every day. Then there’s the harmful inner monologue 🧵/1

I sincerely hope certain people and organisations acknowledge Maria's contribution to this profession publicly and generously. Especially because there are several organisations and prominent people who whose careers and work has had its way paved by Maria's pioneering influence.

My dad is 87 today. Our vid chat went “I filled the car with diesel and all the cans so if Putin attacks our power network me and mum should be ok we have solar and the genny” Then asked why I was crying. At 87 he should be worried about what he wants for lunch.

Awful to hear of Maria Albertsen’s death at just 44. A fierce advocate for counsellors, founder of CTUK, and creator of National Counsellors Day, Maria made an immense impact on the counselling profession with her ethical stance and commitment to equity. My condolences to all who knew her. 💔

My Supervisor knows me so well. We have worked together with brutal honesty, support and collaboration for years and my upcoming retirement and consequent endings were the topic of today. Are you really retiring? I have to. Silence You will be missed, Tears. I don't want to. Meh life.

Winter is on us, fuel bills are through the roof. So question of the day is........ What temperature is the thermostat set in your therapy room? Mine is 18 degrees C which is probably a bit cooler than I would like but too warm makes me sleepy.

Unexpected obstacles many survivors face in trauma recovery include the sense that, in getting better, we're somehow "betraying" other victims who didn't "make it out" ("survivor guilt")-- or actually "betraying" our abusers (to whom we are "trauma bonded").

Is there a starter pack for Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Mental Health practitioners? If there is I would love a link for one and if not, how do we make one? #Psychotherapy #Counselling #Therapy #mentalhealth
