Austin Shinn

Yeah I’m reading a Betty and Veronica set. Good. God. These comics are horny. It’s crazy to see how often the characters land in bikinis

Since I’m talking Archie today, the Indian adaptation on Netflix is pretty good but not great. Like it fills the time and it gets the tone right but the acting is abysmal. It needed the Riverdale cast

Like there are so many great scenes but then it’s weirdly padded and the setting of the past weighs it down. It’s actually very progressive with a gay attraction subplot so it should be set now

I need everyone to understand I am having a very severe and very public autism episode. I want something I can’t have. I’m really upset other people are getting their version of the thing I like but I hate their version. And I need my version to keep together. But I can’t get it.

I want movies or comics or books that hit that Archie note. Sweet, happy love stories I can experience quickly. I am not getting that from Wildwood or You Can See Everything.

I’m collapsing because I need a coping mechanism and instead of getting it I’m getting things that are causing me to have a panic attack and meltdowns. I’m so sad I can’t hold together as a person.

I did finally realize why I’m so obsessed with beauty and romcoms in art. I found the art that made me who I am. And I believe I know my curse that has ruined me. I am doomed because I grew up on Archie Comics

I’m so sad this morning. Is there nothing to make me happy

We have just had an incalculable loss

I’m sorry but this isn’t getting better

Reading a really not good movie novelization and I feel so bad about it. The writer is trying (and will likely see this ;) ) but god this work is a slog.

This is just absolutely so boring and it’s the source material not the writer

I really do not like myself today

Today. Is. Not. Going. Well.

Having a stressful day as it is my sister in law’s wedding. So I invoke the gods with a prayer. Everybody Wang Chung Tonight.

Just had someone condescendingly post an image of keys jangling because I said I was excited for the Marvel/Star Wars comic. I blocked that asshole but here’s my response: Duh that’s what it is. I acknowledge it. Let me enjoy it because I’m incredibly stressed and the joke I saw cracked me up.

Like I’m not stupid. I’m not pretending it’ll be high art. But Kevin Smith doing a Marvel version of Last Action Hero sounds amazing. As long as I’m honest that this sounds like empty fun but actual fun, don’t be an asshat to me

The most insane piece of film trivia I know is this: Hans Gruber is the first movie Alan Rickman was credited in. He was a prolific tv/stage/radio actor so he was no novice and his genius Rope audio drama predates it. But still. He started on film with his best role.
