Me: Gosh is there anything better than creating optimal, elegant, beautiful solutions for problems? I love it! A bunch of clowns, apparently: hahaha let's throw a bunch of money into a furnace, buy up all the RAM and GPUs and just fuckin' brute force everything HONK HONK

Got bored and learned about the cc65 compiler that lets you compile c code for systems like the commodore 64 and 128. Made something to spit out prime numbers as a quick and dirty test and had something working way faster than I thought I would.

I sometime struggle to understand the state of mind of someone who vibecodes, and skips over actually programming anything myself. Programming is the funnest part! The pride of figuring out the puzzle of what you're trying to achieve with a hunk of sillicon and wires is incredible!

Microslop being pissy that we're all calling them that rather than just removing copilot is actually kinda amusing when you watch it happen from a distance. Are they not aware why there's been a spike in Linux users? (Yes I know it's for the shareholders but I have to pretend they need to care)

So frustrated that an actual push for nuclear power innovation is because of all things, generative ai datacenters. There are so many actual things nuclear power could be used for to reduce the amount of CO2 we've been pumping out but noooo, it's only for the slop factories.

We're gonna have to explain to future generations why the ai bubble was allowed to get so bad to the point that this is now a thing, all so that bots could scam people and RFK could post ai slop of him beating up a man in a Twinkie costume.

tomshardware.comRAM kits are now sold with one fake RAM stick alongside a real one to create a performance illusion — 1+1 'value pack' offers desperate psychological relief as the memory shortage worsensFiller RAM won't make your system run any better, but it'll at least make it look good.

One of my stranger pieces of uranium glass: a glass basket that is much more blue than typical uranium glass. Interestingly, it glows the same bright green under a uv light. The fun part is that it almost seems to change color in sunlight to a greener hue and I believe that's due to the sun's uv

Figured I'd share my full profile picture. I realized this plague doctor mask kinda fit with my hoodie and roped my dad into taking a picture. And I decided an otomatone would bring everything together. I don't know why, but I like it.

This piece is by far my favorite piece of uranium glass. It's a bottle made to store vinegar from the 1939 World's Fair and I just love the design. The person I bought it from showed off the glow by shinning a uv flashlight down the neck.

Check out this radioactive WWII era dial painted with radium I got my hands on. The fun part is that the most radioactive part is the brown end of the needle, not the stuff glowing under a blacklight. (I believe) This is because there was enough radioactive paint that it chemically damaged itself.

You are up to date.
