Applications are open for USJLP's Class of 2027-2028. Eligible candidates hold U.S. or Japan citizenship, are 28-42, and are proven leaders in their fields. NAJAS, a USJF grantee, has launched JapanHands, a new hub connecting Japan-related organizations across North America with a searchable directory and shared event calendar. 米日財団の助成先である全米日米協会連合（NAJAS）が、北米の日本関連団体をつなぐ新たなオンラインハブ「JapanHands」を開設しました。検索可能なディレクトリと共有イベントカレンダーを提供しています。

USJF has named Dr. Gene T. Kim the second recipient of the Richard J. Samuels Dissertation Award in Japanese Studies for his research on Japan-Korea maritime relations and postcolonial sovereignty. More below. 米日財団は、日韓の海洋関係と脱植民地化に関する研究により、ジーン・T・キム博士をリチャード・J・サミュエルズ日本研究博士論文賞の第2回受賞者に選出しました。詳細は以下より。

Applications for the 2026 USJF Young Mayors Award are now open. The award carries a prize of ¥1,500,000 toward a study visit to the United States for a Japanese mayor under 45. Applications close January 29, 2027. 2026年度「若手首長賞」の応募受付を開始しました。45歳未満の首長を対象に、米国視察を支援する150万円の助成金を授与します。応募締切は2027年1月29日（金）です。

📌 USJF will move its grant application process to an online form beginning with the Q4 2026 cycle starting on August 22, 12 AM EDT, replacing the current email submission and cover sheet. 📌 米日財団は、日本時間8月22日13時より開始される2026年度第4四半期より、助成金の申請提出方法をオンラインフォームに変更します。現行のメール提出とカバーシートに代わるものです。

A fundraiser for Kumamoto earthquake relief exceeded its $25,000 goal in six days. USJF and USJLP will add another $25,000, supporting Peace Winds Japan's ongoing relief efforts.
