An individual in the FFXI community recently used assumably AI to port over a reflection/shine effect from the PS2 version and for the most part it's just a slightly nicer shine than the typical one we have on PC but CAIT SITH'S EYES HELLO???? I just keep looking at them because they are GORGEOUS

Got the fresh install POL patch down to just under 4 minutes opposed to 2 hours but it still bothers me seeing so little download so damn slowly....

In other news, I've tried to record those zone flyover 3 times now and I keep noticing minor inaccuracies in Hymnus like for example the flowers in the cavern you go to for BST unlock in Qufim are staying lit during the day and I refuse to record this stuff and put it out there if its not accurate

It kinda sucks because a good chunk of stuff is handled by the server turning it on and off and if there's no server... well. Continuing tales of everything in FFXI being a door

Couple more shots since I've shifted some stuff about, and f it you guys might as well get to see a bit more of it. Basically all of the friends and messaging system is operational, including editing your profile, handle name and profile picture.

The delay basically comes down to testing it all, at this point, as it's obviously very important it's safe to use and not doing anything unexpected. Will probably be asking some friends to help test it more generally once I'm absolutely sure it's safe

I'm going to record a video of all of the zone flyovers used for the title screen today, would people prefer each zone played the Vana'diel March relevant to the expansion that zone is from (RoTZ doesn't have a march so I'd just use Vana'diel March #2) or the zone's music? Not all zones have music

One thing I will say, absolutely no AI involved with this, this is powered by ADHD hyperfixation and 23 years of hearing the first 15-30 seconds of Dolphin every time I log into PlayOnline

i feel like it doesnt come off a strongly in screenshots but ffxi is genuinely so pretty that when i was trying to take tulia pictures to compare to ffxiv’s version i got distracted by how pretty the sunrise looked and went to go watch that instead
