I watched the box-office flop Digger last night and loved it. I was reminded that unless you’re rich/ powerful, our future will be satire about the new “norm” of climate disasters to laugh at so we don’t cry. And Australia is great source material with all the fossil fuel projects we approve.

50,000 deaths from heatwaves; without countries like Australia (one of the biggest exporters of coal) taking action, this number will only increase. So I hope Albo has something meaningful to say when he jets off to Turkey for the global climate conference.

theguardian.comHeat killed ‘staggering’ 50,000 people in Europe’s cities this summer, scientists warnPeople succumbed to heat at highest rates in Malta, Italy and Hungary, with health issues, loneliness and poverty exacerbating toll

Having a hard time believing that allowing women in jail/prison to give birth without being shackled is something up for debate. Sorry if I’ve missed something...

Sydney Sweeney’s ad for Novig saw app downloads jump over 250% and first-time depositors rise over 350%. It shows us: 1. This marketing works (duh!!!) 2. The marketing of gambling is fucked and is just profiting off of men - in many cases vulnerable men.

Australia currently gives the fossil fuel industry over $16 billion (via tax breaks and subsidies). Imagine if we gave even just half of this to fund adaptation measures in the Pacific, instead of Albo giving another spineless speech.

In just days, floods in Bangkok have seen - 3.5 million people affected - ~40 people dead - a flood disaster across all 50 of the city’s districts. Yet this week NSW had its largest coal mine approved - it will emit 809 tonnes of emissions, making disasters like this more frequent.

This week, we've seen that calling yourself "grassroots" is very different from spending the time to actually be a grassroots organisation. And putting in the time and work is tricky when we're in a world of tight timelines, but that's what makes you, uhm, better than the other orgs.

Never thought I’d be making a post about potholes, but…Fast fashion waste is being used to fix potholes. Yep, a silver lining in the fast fashion world: the UK’s Maidstone Borough Council uses recycled clothes to make low-carbon material to fix potholes. Here’s to local council action.

Major fashion runways don’t have enough fat bodies, disabled bodies, brown and black bodies. Instead of prioritising that this year’s London Fashion Week featured a robot, following last year’s Paris Fashion week.

Another terrifying headline and now what? The Labor government approves another gas project? Another coal mine? Another gas project? The only way we can get back to 1.5 degrees is through immediate emissions cuts and removing carbon from the atmosphere - Australia has the resources to do this.

Owner of fast fashion brand Zara opened Lefties - “Zara’s cheaper little sister”. Lefties is operated by robots, and its clothes are cheaper than Shein, an ultra fast fashion brand This is another brand producing cheap clothes that end up in landfills in the Global South.

In just a few days, there have been several allegations of men sexually assaulting women. The solution isn’t just the Labor government throwing temporary bits of money, but Labor holding social media companies that promote misogynist content accountable.

So Meta is happy to take more of our data to show us “relevant” content. But they won’t stop paying ragebait creators and promoting racist and misogynistic content. I want to be able to “have a say” in the content I see by opting out of the dangerous rabbit holes of Meta’s algorithm.

No one’s doing more than Gwyneth Paltrow. First, it was promoting luxury real estate in Israel while Israel is actively committing genocide in Gaza. And now it’s apparently throwing a private, off the record party honouring OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Oh, but don’t worry, she’s an “independent”.

Our wages aren't even meet the rising cost of living. Meanwhile: - In the first half of 2026, Rio Tinto saw a 47% profit increase to ~$10 BILLION - BHP saw a 9% annual growth in profit to ~$14 BILLION The Labor government must tax these dirty billion dollar companies so they pay their fair share.

The media controls whether governments take action on climate change. Because how come when talking about the devestating fires: - almost two thirds of articles in the UK made NO mention of climate change, and - Less than 20% of Canadian news stories on the fires mentioned climate change.

Dr Jason Arday’s death is another example of how well funded conservative media and academic institutions continue to discriminate and promote white supremacy. It doesn't matter how many "POC Scholarships" you have when you actively work against minority groups.

Students missing ONE DAY of school fighting for their future vs Pauline Hanson’s 54% attendance rate for Senate division votes and a shocking 12% attendance rate for Senate estimates hearings since 2016.

A reminder that ultra-fast fashion brands SHEIN and Temu are hurting Australian designers and jobs, with dozens of local Aussie brands and hundreds of physical stores shutting down. We need government action if we want to see sustainable, local fashion grow and stop the rise of fast-fashion slop.

Instead of increasing investment in public health, NSW Premier Chris Minns has told people to avoid going to the emergency room unless it’s “life-threatening”. Experts say the stress on the health care system was and is expected, so is the long term strategy to tell people to avoid the ED?

And that’s on people power. India’s young people have really shown the world that protest does work - I mean if it didn’t why would they even bother with all the anti-protest laws in Australia. Overturning a fascist government takes time and this is a huge step forward.

Two weeks ago Albanese shook Modi’s hand with pride - a known fascist. Now thousands in India are protesting against the Modi government, asking for the bare minimum - a voice. This is a result of a decade of censorship and horrifying treatment of marginalised groups.

Our favourite fashionista, Pauline, attended a Dolce & Gabbana show this week in Italy. From dressing as a bigot with her stunts in parliament to her lounging outfit when she's with Gina, Pauline really does it all.

Who would’ve thunk it?! Relying on finite dirty sources of power increases our electricity bills. Net zero targets are not just an environmental policy but an economic one because renewable energy helps your pocket and the planet.

18-24 year old men made up the majority of complaints about facing sexual extortion. This is proof the social media ban won’t work. A blanket ban isn’t the solution to anything. The government must hold big tech accountable to moderate content, and educate users, not just take them off the app.

People power works - Meta has just pulled their terrifying AI feature after people called them out. A huge win showing us the change we all have the power to make when we come together.

The biggest coal mine in NSW’s HISTORY is being assessed right now. You can stop it by making a submission. If approved, the Hunter Valley coal mine’s expansion will lead to: 🚨 800 million tonnes of pollution 🚨 an extra 200 million tonnes of coal 🚨 destructive open-cut coal mining til 2045

Huge win for gas companies! While Aussies deal with cost of living pressures, these BILLION DOLLAR companies are pocketing an extra $27 BILLION due to the shortfall caused by Trump’s war in Iran. It’s time for a tax on gas exports.

A STEP FOR SUSTAINABLE FASHION France just passed a law fining SHEIN and Temu for every piece of clothing they sell. The law also bans all advertising from SHEIN and Temu, including influencer promotion.

Coal, oil and gas companies spend MILLIONS on programs for children, from Nippy’s junior life-saving to climate education programs. But they’re not doing this to create a better future for children. The fossil fuels they produce pollute the very air and water these kids swim in.

SHOCKER! A new report found Europe’s deadly heatwaves are caused by climate change and would’ve never happened 50 yrs ago. ONE DAY of extreme heat causes ~3,400 excess deaths in India, found another report. Australia is a HUGE exporter of coal/gas and must take responsibility.

Congrats Karl, you're free from Nine! Guess you just had to fly across the globe to interview a far-right extremist who's been convicted of fraud, grooming and assault and has racist beliefs to get there. Here's to conflating freedom of speech and platforming racism and misinformation.

Yesterday’s NSW budget release shows us that we do not need to rely on dirty coal mining to fund health and education, even though these billion dollar companies love to claim they do. Over a decade, these billion-dollar companies make up an average of only 2.4% of total government revenue.

Even during a gas shortage, coal mining royalties make up only 2.7% of our projected revenue. There is no justification for our reliance on coal when we have renewables that can produce cheaper, cleaner energy.

Would love to see Karl Stefanovic and Dave Hughes, two white men with massive media platforms, use their voice to advocate for progressive policy that benefits all Australians instead of spewing misinformation and using immigrants as scapegoats.

In 2025-26, fossil fuel companies received $16.3 BILLION in subsidies from Australian governments. Coal companies may now get an EXTRA $6.2 billion in taxpayer refunds if the Albanese government approves half the mine developments up for approval. We need to incentivise renewables, not dirty coal.

Elon gave Trump a chainsaw to “cut the red tape”. But Gina Rinehart thinks Australia needs more, gifting Hanson a bulldozer. What we need is community action to stop the rise of this absurdity. From work places to book clubs to festivals - this is community and each conversation matter.

Pauline Hanson loves to talk about jobs for Australians while outsourcing her own campaign to workers overseas for cheap labour. And a reminder that Hanson is besties with a BILLIONAIRE, has a private plane and raised over $4 million in just ~2 weeks. This is Hanson’s excuse:
