Dems need to be broadcasting far and wide right now that if you participate in and benefit from the theft of public funds in extrajudicial executive actions, your failure to understand that you’re breaking the law is not a valid defense and you will be prosecuted and imprisoned.

Careless People is very insightful about tech bros’ motives, but I wish the author’s horror at the human rights abuses had resulted in more substantive action. It seems like she went along while it was benefiting her financially, and finally registered her dismay when that was more profitable.

Still a worthwhile read, but there were many times throughout the narrative that I marveled that the bar wasn’t yet low enough for her to give up the benefits of being a FB executive.

When candidates take campaign money from billionaires, they’re telling voters that they think billionaires should supervise the government. Or gosh darn, they think money in politics just stinks, but they’re victims of this terrible system just like the rest of you fine votin’ folks!

It’s critical that every single person committing crimes for the Trump criminal enterprise is prosecuted ASAP. They and their successors have to know that they will be held accountable. Pardons issued to enable that criminal activity must be rescinded.

It’s batshit that Trump’s approval polling is just now dipping below 40%, which is still higher than the proportion of eligible voters who bothered to vote for him. Like, you passively want your president to destroy the country but not if you have to leave the house to weigh in.

I wonder if everyone in leadership at large companies and government agencies was threatened or blackmailed into going all in on AI, an unfinished, project in progress with no ethical or legal guardrails. Because that would make more sense. 1/

The premature deployment of AI and investment in the clunky energy sucking hardware is like if those vaguely humanoid robots of 25 years ago had been put to work piloting commercial flights and driving school buses. What’s the worst that could possibly happen? 2/

In my under informed opinion, the fervor of companies divesting from humans and investing in AI doesn’t necessarily seem to match up with specific goals relevant to their particular business. But if some other rich guys think we should build data vortices in someone else’s backyards, they’re in. 3/3

It never ceases to infuriate me how hard people will trip over themselves to defend strangers accused of sexual assault, because they heard about someone being falsely accused once. Women do not benefit from coming forward. They’re treated horrifically, as seen in many comments today.

Sexual assault really is that common, even by people who have so much to lose and seek high profile positions. Survivors are silenced by normal trauma response, humiliation, shame and a hundred other reasons why they may not come forward for years, or ever.

Pentagon: Don’t be lying alarmists! We have tons of munitions and haven’t been haphazardly deploying our stockpile with no plan! Also Pentagon: Out of bombs, need another trillion dollars urgently, for freedom and (Protestant) Jesus.

I’m genuinely surprised that Bondi was next. But she didn’t “botch” concealing Epstein evidence. That was her assignment. Her crime must have been failing to punish Trump enemies fast enough. And she’s a girl.

For once, I think Trump knows exactly how it sounds when he says they’re going to have to force themselves on states (to steal elections). He’s delighted that he has gotten away with raping children and women for probably his entire life.

As his cognitive decline progresses, there will be more of this. Oddly, what jumped out at me here was the plain framing of his office vs. the states and voters. It’s an acknowledgment, in my opinion.

I just learned that Susan Brownmiller died, less than a year ago, at age 90. 2nd wave feminism changed everything for American women, and made a lot of mistakes in the process. She changed my perspective as a fledgling 3rd wave activist, and I was so fortunate to have met and thanked her.

Time to enlist, manosphere! Finally put to rest those rumors that you’re insecure babies with no redeeming qualities and show the world what you can do with your thousands of hours of CoD play. 🦅

Is there a place to check whether Trump has been seen on and given day? It’s not much, but there was one night when we got pretty hopeful and I’d like to have more of that feeling while we wait for nature to take its course.

Sexual assault survivors who speak out publicly against predators with vast resources represent millions of survivors who know how they will be ridiculed, degraded, blamed, and dismissed for coming forward. These heroes are more brave than most of us will ever be, at a heavy cost.

Words that should not be used in an other context except their literal meaning: “rape” and “slave”. Your reduced department budget has not been raped, and your holiday cooking efforts are not “slaving”. Please stop doing this.

Did Trump exclusively appoint predators and defenders of pedophiles to his administration? Mutually assured destruction and no messy crises of conscience to worry about.

Withholding federal research funding from universities as a shakedown will only lead to more demands if the institutions capitulate. Harvard’s endowment is over $56 billion. They can keep the lights on until one of the several potential remedies occurs, without fellating Trump.

I have been so sad and disturbed to realize that Trump’s fans fundamentally love the affirmation that it’s fine, even good, to want to harm strangers. They enjoy being spectators to suffering because they want to inflict suffering too. 1/

And that there are way more people than I realized who not only don’t care that their idol and many others victimized children, but actively participate in hiding it and allowing it to continue. How many people have seen the concealed evidence and agreed to be a part of the conspiracy?

It begs a reevaluation of our fundamental nature as a species for me. Do we tend to accept and perform any behavior that personally benefits us at a severe cost to others? Do we think others’ suffering prevents our own? 3/3

The Disaster Relief Fund is a separate pot of money used for recovery following federally declared disasters, as well as paying CORE personnel. CORE employees continue to work during government shutdowns. It is not true that FEMA stops functioning during a federal funding lapse. 1/

The shutdown impacts some, but not all, PFTs at FEMA. There are exemptions for every agency conducting essential lifesaving operations, so it’s false that denying ICE $ means FEMA and the Coast Guard cease operations. 2/2

May every ICE employee who is supporting operations, because they’re garbage humans or “just doing their jobs,” never know a moment of peace or be welcomed by any community for the rest of their existence for being a part of this insurrection against the American people.

Thanks, AI! You really get us, and the purpose of dry measuring cups, in this product photo. I prefer 2/3 cup blue jello cubes in my milk, but your family recipe may vary.

How many counterterrorism functions have been wiped out or reassigned to exact revenge on Trump’s behalf? We are vulnerable, distracted, making new enemies, and losing our allies. 1/

Our former allies can’t trust this admin with their intelligence, and the admin thinks they don’t need it because they have brute force. This is so dangerous and we’re too intentionally exhausted by the wack-a-mole of weekly crises to worry about future crises. 2/2

The administration is saying if you exercise your right to free speech and association and therefore “have ties” to opposing or critical views, you may be shot in the head and deserve it.

Seriously, is Miller trying to destroy the country because he was really hideous in high school? Like, cartoonishly ugly. Is his villain origin story having that face and subjugating others so he’s the most powerful potato?

I only read 19 books in 2025, and don’t want to try to guess the number of hours rage-scrolling poorly reported clickbait. More books in 2026.

Mike Johnson is a bad actor and a bad actor. Is he “disappointed” that the Epstein docs bill passed w/o amendment because he has to feign defeat after acting on Trump’s orders this whole time, including this vote, or because the staged reversal makes him look weak?

Reporters are going to be thrown out of the press corps anyway, and Trump still won’t answer any questions, so why don’t ANY journalists challenge him to his face? They’re just reporting on the batshit ramblings in lieu of answers and can still do that.

Duffy saying normal flights will resume when the shutdown ends indicates a punitive rather than safety measure. Overtaxed ATCs won’t instantly become refreshed and fully staffed when they’re finally paid.

We are all sandwich-throwing guy! Congrats on your acquittal on a misdemeanor charge, after the fed gov’s failure to get a felony indictment (twice). Taking the small wins until the big prosecutions.

How far we’ve fallen to not even care to appropriately acknowledge the death of Dick Cheney, a total POS of the highest order before his competition showed up.

Once again reminding my former fed colleagues that clinging to a job that’s not paying you as your mental health deteriorates is not a victory just because they want you to quit. If you have other options and are hanging in for the fight, it’s one-sided. 1/2

They won’t care or notice if you stay since your programs have likely been decimated, and your agency’s mission trashed. Except ATCs, who could bring this country to a halt. 2/2

The vile President and his cronies are delighted to starve out Americans when they don’t get November SNAP benefits. Desperate parents with hungry children are a different group of protesters. 1/

One year ago, I was deployed to Florida for hurricane recovery, as a fed. My immigrant colleagues voted for Trump. I wonder what happened to the woman whose husband was a disabled immigrant and voted Trump for lower grocery prices. 5/5

They don’t care if anyone approves or supports these actions, especially the people who voted Trump. Now they want widespread dissent from everyone so they can do what they planned. 4/

They’ve ensured that many Americans have lost their jobs in the public and private sectors. Now they’re intentionally inciting people who are suffering by openly stealing our money. 2/
