Lately I've been thinking that there's no real reason to continue forcing my music out there anymore, but if fuckin Conner, Tanner, and Brantlee are gonna bring their fuckin fitted tees and camo hats into our culture of outsiders, that means I still got a goddamn job to do!

Lost interest in Mastodon years ago because I got tired of hearing Brent Hinds be a troll at the start of every album cycle. Seemed the guy was always complaining about something. He's been out of Mastodon over 5 months, and he's still complaining. But everyone else was the problem? I doubt it.

💩 Well, screenshots have surfaced on the Mastodon subreddit that allegedly show ex-vocalist Brent Hinds taking yet another shot at his previous bandmates, accusing them of being "two people who can't sing" and that "only [Hinds knows] who they really are." metalinjection.net/news/drama/b...

Don't usually remember dreams, but when I do they tend to mean something. I'm back in high school, going thru the motions when I realize "wait, I've already graduated, I can just leave!" My legs are heavy, but I'm leaving, and yelling my frustrations about being fooled into staying for so long.

#AEWDynamite moved quickly, and let us experience so many different emotions throughout the show. The in-ring action was great, reasonable fan service, several stories moved forward, and some of it's carrying into Collision as well. Zero complaints from me. 🤼‍♂️

The musician's struggle: Wrote my first (terrible) song at 11 years old, I knew maybe 5 chords. Put out my first 2 albums at 16, had them available at the local record store. Started playing live regularly in my 20s, organizing music festivals in my 30s, and made the local paper a couple times.

At 36, I noticed things changing. I realized I was now "one of the OGs" in the scene, and my role would be different now. Started making peace with the idea of "never making it", and focused on my personal life. At 44, I have 3 active music projects, all obscure. I can't stop, this is what I do.

Sometimes my ego speaks up, and I get a little down about the state of things, but inevitably, I remember that I make music because I love it. I always have, and no amount of generative AI tech bro BS will change that. I won't stop making my art until they pry the guitar from my cold, dead hands.

I'm gonna talk about Death Grips, video games, and being a shoot dad with MxM. 🤼‍♂️

You HAVE to pick a seat on the flight to the next #AEWDynamite. Who are you sitting next to and how will you try to spend your time?

Some faceless "sports cat" profile was trying to give me shit this morning for my opinion, and then blocked me when I returned the same energy. That is bluesky in a nutshell. Motherfuckers with their fingers in their ears goin "lalalalala". 😆😆😆

I've been doing this social media thing for years because "gotta put yourself out there", but I have not enjoyed it for a very long time. I'm a bored stay at home dad during summer break, so I have time, but I'm gonna start using it better. Anything would be more rewarding than posting.

Anyway, the G1 tournament this year has been some of the best pro wrestling I've ever seen. And as an added bonus, there's no one in #NJPW with an active sexual assault case! 🤼‍♂️

Made microwave popcorn on the stove using a little chicken grease, avocado oil and Kashmiri chilli powder. It was really good, but that's because I took a reasonable snack, and made it as unhealthy as possible. This was supposed to be funny, but I've already spent 10 minutes on this post, I give up.

Prong was cool, they played the hits, and looked like they had fun. About halfway thru Benediction's set. Their singer is hilarious, and once again some old guys are absolutely wrecking shit. 🤘 #WackenOnMyPorch #metalsky

Point Blank was a big influence on my music, so watching Max and Alex do these songs live with Igor Cavalera, and members of Pig Destroyer backing them is really scratching that itch right now. #WackenOnMyPorch #metalsky

It's cool that you can't really "age out" of metal. A lot of these bands from the 80s still sound fantastic live, like Destruction for example. Now for Nailbomb. #WackenOnMyPorch #metalsky

It's cloudy, and in the 70s today so I've got my small PA hooked up to my laptop on the back porch, watching sets from Wacken. I can pretend I'm at a show with no line for beer, and a great view of the stage.

At an old job, the owner started a side hustle having our department spray painting stuff. Gave me terrible headaches. I overate one day before work knowing the smell would cause me to gag, and vomit. Right in front of the supervisor. I cleaned it up, and went home. They stopped spray painting too.

I tried this once. Joined a (mostly) country cover band, learned 48 songs in 3 weeks hoping to dive into a new scene that wasn't my style at all. They seemed to like hanging out and practicing more than playing shows. Made $180 across 3 gigs in about 6 months, I wouldn't try it again.

I encouraged the group to book more shows, but they kept insisting on more practices even though they had booking connections across the whole state. Long story short, there was also a huge age gap, and they never seemed to be interested in anything I had to say so I left.

I don't know much about the manosphere, but from what I've heard of it, it sounds dumb. I listened to Theo Von once, but only because Katt Williams was the guest. I never listened to Joe Rogan because episodes are 3 hours long, and why in tf would I wanna listen to ANYONE talk for that long?
