Ol' Vic was just remembering a conversation I had with ol' Kermit Roosevelt about Mossadegh (or Mossy, as I used to call him) and it's comforting to remember that American Propaganda campaigns attacking democracy in foreign countries just to get their oil are in the past. #AbPoli #CanPoli

All UCP members note we have updated the "Should there be a Canadian Flag Behind Danielle Smith" flowchart. Amend your binders accordingly with the new guidelines. And remember, "If Danielle's a-cryin', the Maple Leaf should be flyin'" - JvK #AbPoli

Do you hear the seppies sing Singing a song of "we've been had"? It is the music of a people Who found out their leaders are bad When the beating of your hearts Echoes the beating of the drum There is a lesson to be learned And we all feel dumb. #AbPoli

RT @WestButteStar Based on early reporting, the West Butte Star Referendum Office has will called the referendum FOR the Government of Alberta. "We Won," will have said Danielle Smith, over loud cheers/boos from her supporters. "This endorses what we have said all along. We are great" #AbPoli

Ol' Vic is hereby declaring my intention to take a stand for what I believe and stand firm on the principles that founded this great place to live, to fight for the great way of life that is so important and listen to the concerns of my constituents to courageously oh d*rn out of characters #AbPoli

By my count, only 14 of 47 UCP MLAs have publicly declared they plan to vote for Alberta to remain in Canada in the October 19 separation referendum. Only one has declared they have voted otherwise. daveberta.substack.com/p/tracking-w...

And ol' Vic has to give respect for the way that Big Danielle waited until she knew which way the wind was blowing before declaring she was always gonna sail that way anyway. She's got the spine of... something very spiny... a sea urchin! Big Danielle has the backbone of a sea urchin! #AbPoli

... normally the ol' OUTRAGE-O-TRON would all up about this, but it has been curiously silent this week. Weird. #AbPoli

Some of you are voting really fast. Does that mean you're not doing as instructed and pondering every question? Are you just painting the whole list of questions as racist exceptionalism wrapped in a veneer of plaintiff populism? ... well you're not wrong but could you be less smug about it? #abpoli

Here's the thing with Big Danielle: I says "Big Danielle", I says, "how do you like being Premier?" and she says "Oh it's a great way to explore career options" "Well whaddya mean, explore career options?"

... "What about the work of, you know, _being the Premier_?" And she says "yes, like negotiating with the US, and revising zoning bylaws; I LOVE IT!" "Yah, but, Big Danielle, what about being _Premier_? What do you enjoy about that work?"

And then there was just like a long awkward silence and then the tow truck showed up to haul Bessie out of the High Level Bridge entrance and we never got to finish the conversation as she had to go off and invent an Alberta Pension Plan #AbPoli

Here's the thing with Big Danielle: I says "Big Danielle", I says, "how do you like being Premier?" and she says "Oh it's a great way to explore career options" "Well whaddya mean, explore career options?"

And she says "well I like deciding on bike lanes, which is what city councils do, and I like controlling immigration, which is what the feds do, and by being Premier I get to try both!!" And I tell you she was just so happy in that moment. "But," says I...

ADMIT IT. YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO GROW UP AND FIGHT KILLER ROBOTS. YOU JUST NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE ON A HANDHELD NIGHTMARE RECTANGLE. CHECKMATE, JOHN CONNOR. - OUTRAGE-O-TRON AI. #AbPoli

West Butte's weekly mail drop included our "Stand Up For A Stronger Alberta" and ol' Vic just wants to thank you, the taxpayer, for paying for it. I'm sure you're very glad to have this instead of teachers and nurses, etc... #AbPoli

The headline here isn't a surprise; we knew that broad support for separatism was lower than our chances in Edmonton Glenora... But it's this line that caught ol' Vic's eye: "Poll also suggests decline in people who say they feel mainly attached to Alberta" www.cbc.ca/news/canada/... #AbPoli

We say "Alberta to block federal housing deals after Red Deer loses funding" and you say "Why am I commuting past people sleeping under shopping carts, what does a house in Salmon Arm cost"? We say "Alberta’s ER deaths spotlight systemic hospital underfunding" and you say "How about Winnipeg"?

Yes, because of us you are poorer, hungrier, sicker, stupider and unsafer* but is that so bad that you would not even see yourself as part of our grand plan? *is SO a word, we asked AI

We say "math scores tumble 3 years into new curriculum" and you say "Why am I raising kids here"? We say "protected lands statistics in Alberta now include Crown land owned by the province used for commercial forestry, oil and gas exploration and mining." and you say "I wish I could breathe"?

We say "V for Vendetta was taken out of libraries in 11 school divisions" and " 1984 by George Orwell was banned by five or more school divisions." and you say "Banning book about fighting fascism... Are we the baddies"?

Are our policies of poverty, disease, ignorance and environmental devastation driving people away from this very province?! Does the prospect of starving to death under an amber sky while your kids cough themselves hoarse in a bookless classroom of 35 kids fail to boost support for our Awesomeness?

We say "2026 could see highest traffic death toll in more than a decade" and you say "I don't want that"? We say "Alberta leads Canada in gender pay gap" and you say "That's not me"? We say "Alberta at the bottom for quality of life satisfaction" and you say "Why do I live here"?

Pompeii is a UNESCO world heritage site not because it was remarkable in its prime, but because it survived to our era untouched: one moment, preserved for all time. But future generations won't know what OUR world was like unless we do the same. This is why we MUST bury Toronto with a volcano

"WG-2026-P-27 Policy Declaration 301.1.r. Discontinue the use of land acknowledgements by the Government of Alberta, and all publicly funded institutions, agencies, and entities." No way this comes back to haunt us in the future, 'cause our relationship with the First Nations is perfect! #AbPoli

Watching Big Danielle is making ol' Vic dizzy! She runs to one window and shouts "I'm not a Separatist, Strong Canada!!" and then she runs across the office to another window and shouts "I am a Separatist! Let Alberta decide" and then she says "pipelines" and bursts into tears! #AbPoli

What do you mean our policies of asking people about their genitals, letting people die in emergency waiting rooms, only allowing strong and free data centre flags in schools, and pinky swearing that we are totally not separatists are not resonating with voters?!?
