Too many Lewisham North residents are dealing with leaks, water quality problems, outages and rising bills. If you're a Lewisham North constituent, join my meeting on 6 November and help me make the case for change directly to Thames Water's CEO. Email vicky.foxcroft.mp@parliament.uk for details.

Intersex is an umbrella term that encompasses a range of variations in biological sex differentiations. Awareness leads to understanding, and understanding leads to inclusion - find out more about the experiences of intersex people today. Everyone deserves to be seen, understood, and valued. 💜

I've written to the Mayor of Lewisham after Landsec deprioritised the Lewisham Shopping Centre redevelopment. The scheme wasn't perfect, but losing a once-in-a-generation £1.5bn investment in our town centre raises serious questions. We need to know what happens now.

(1/2) Many residents rely on their landline, so I wanted to share an important update. 📞 The UK's ageing analogue phone network is being switched off in January 2027. If your provider contacts you about switching to a digital landline, please make sure you respond so your service isn't disrupted.

Public transport is a shared space. Using headphones is a simple way to show consideration for others and make journeys more comfortable for everyone. Good to see steps being taken to improve the passenger experience. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

My first job was in the local Chinese takeaway. That opportunity gave me a start in working life. Great to see the Gov is creating 100,000 new hospitality jobs for young people currently out of work and needing to take that initial step. news.sky.com/story/hospit...

Brown water, leaks, outages, sky-high bills...fed up with Thames Water? I'm hosting a meeting for Lewisham North constituents to tell me exactly what's gone wrong, and I'll be taking your concerns straight to the Thames Water CEO. Want to join? Email my office on vicky.foxcroft.mp@parliament.uk

Thank you to everyone who attended today's Brockley Community Coffee Morning at St John's Church. It was fantastic to be able to update constituents on my work as a DCMS Minister. Residents discussed a number of key local issues, and I will continue to raise these concerns with Lewisham Council.

Good luck to Sagal Abdi-Wali in today's by-election. It has been a pleasure to see her passion for serving the local people and standing up for the community she grew up in and cares so deeply about. To everyone in Holborn and St Pancreas, don't forget to head to the polls today and vote. 🌹

Unfortunately the phone line to my constituency office is down and my team are currently unable to receive calls. We've reported it to the provider so hopefully it will be fixed soon but apologies to anyone who has been trying to get through. Please do email on vicky.foxcroft.mp@parliament.uk

Inspired by our PM's vision for a National Care Service - we can finally give older people and their families the peace of mind they deserve. Free personal care, a State Pension that rises every year, and a system that puts dignity and security at the heart of later life.

And that’s a wrap on Labour Conference! Great discussions on youth, gambling, digital inclusion, loneliness and civil society, and brilliant to meet so many engaged attendees. A highlight was Lisa Nandy announcing 1,000 new youth workers to support young people across the UK.

Your electric toothbrush. Your vape. Your e-bike. What do they have in common? 🔋 Lithium batteries are behind one of London's fastest-growing fire risks. Lewisham London Fire Brigade shared how to dispose of electrical devices safely. 👆 #ChargeSafe

Fantastic news! The Gov has awarded huge funding for a heat network that will use recycled heat to warm 650,000 homes across London, including in Lewisham North. Heating our homes currently accounts for around a fifth of the UK's emissions. 🌍 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cxe87mp60lg2o

It's International Day of Sign Languages. This year’s theme, “Declaring Deaf People’s Human Rights”, highlights that access and inclusion are rights, not privileges. Here's me in 2021 asking the first known PMQ in BSL, raising concerns about Deaf people's access to vital Covid information.

How is the Government going to protect creative jobs as AI grows? How can working-class creatives access the sector and sustain a living? Great to hear attendees share worries, ideas and solutions at my roundtable. Lewisham North’s creative network is incredible and I’m committed to nourishing it.

We're opening 42 new Young Futures Hubs across England! Co‑created with young people, the Manchester pilot is already changing lives. Each Hub offers activity, education, mental health support, enterprise and social spaces. Wherever you grow up, you’ll have support and opportunity.

(1/2) Women sleeping rough often stay out of sight - on night buses, in A&E or all-night cafés - meaning they’re missed by services meant to help. I welcome the PM’s pledge to end rough sleeping, but women must first be counted.

I had such a wonderful time at the London Sivan Temple Chariot Event this weekend! It was one of those days that just lifts your spirits. Lewisham town centre looked absolutely gorgeous with colourful chariots, music and dancing filling the streets. Thank you so much to Lewisham Sivan Temple. 🌟

Thrilled to join St Peter's Brockley on Sunday to open their new garden space for children and young people. After months of hard work, the team have turned an empty patch by the church into a beautiful place for local kids to play and relax. Such a warm reception - thank you for the invite!

Proud to respond to the Westminster Hall debate on Government support of UK Youth Parliament yesterday. As Minister responsible for youth, I’m working hard to strengthen youth voice and make sure the next generation have genuine opportunities to contribute to and shape our democracy.

Today I stood in solidarity with constituents and friends from Trans+ Solidarity Alliance at the Mass Lobby for Trans Equality. 🏳️‍⚧️ They raised a number of questions, particularly around the protection of trans rights in healthcare and support services. I will feed their concerns back to Government.

Thank you to our amazing emergency services for everything they do to keep us safe. Their work is some of the most exhausting out there - carried out in the toughest circumstances - yet they continue to support us with dedication and compassion. #EmergencyServicesDay

Every woman and girl should feel safe in London. That means listening to women about what makes them feel unsafe and taking action. My new £15.6m Safer Public Spaces Fund will put women and girls at the heart of improving public spaces, supporting practical changes that can make a real difference.

Brilliant to see the Gov's changes are helping families save more as the school term begins - up to £1,200 through cheaper uniforms, free breakfast clubs and free school meals! Plus eligible working parents are saving up to £8,000 with government‑funded childcare support.

It was wonderful to be invited to cut the ribbon at the opening of Acorns Nursery at St James Hatcham CE School. It is such an important moment to celebrate the start of this new chapter, where the school is able to provide the foundations for a great future to local children from the age of two.1/2

It was touching to be able to celebrate the life of the former Chair of Governors, Malcolm Edwards CBE, at the unveiling of a plaque in his honour. Malcolm dedicated an incredible 50 years to the school, believing that all children should have the same opportunities. 2/2

Thoroughly enjoyed being at The Den for Millwall’s 4-0 win vs Bolton this afternoon. It was particularly lovely catching up with Chairman James Berylson. Today was bittersweet as my Dad was a huge Bolton fan and we went to many matches together. Nevertheless, I’m excited for the season ahead 🔵⚽

That's my first DCMS questions as Parliamentary Under-Secretary done! Brb just going to have a strong coffee and a sit down. Super ready to be leading on the Digital Inclusion Plan supporting people who face barriers to accessing services as society becomes more digital.

The remaining stages of the Representation of the People Bill will be starting shortly in Parliament. Excited to see years of shouting for votes at 16 finally coming to fruition - and for young people to get the win they deserve!

I've championed votes for 16- and 17-year-olds since I was elected in 2015. I meet so many amazing young people in our local schools - they deserve the chance to shape their own futures. By the next General Election, they'll have the right to vote. bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It’s not often I’m asked how I came to be an MP. I moved to Lewisham North over 20 years ago, became a Brockley Councillor, and I’ve spent every year since standing up for those pushed to the margins. Enjoyed reflecting on anecdotes like this one in my '650 podcast' episode.

(1/2) Registration for my next Creative Industries Roundtable in September is now open and slots are booking up fast! The roundtable is a brilliant opportunity to hear directly from my constituents about breaking down class barriers and opening up access to the arts for everyone. 🧵

If you fly-tip in Lewisham North, you could soon be the one cleaning it up and paying for it. Under new Gov proposals, fly-tippers could be forced into clean-up squads, spending their own time clearing up the waste they've dumped and paying towards the cost of putting things right. 🧵

Great to see a new programme focused on schools with high free‑school‑meal uptake and communities facing the biggest barriers to work. NEET rates hit deprived areas hardest, so it’s encouraging to see employers like Sainsbury’s step up for young people. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...

(1/2) I know how de-stabilising it is to be without a permanent place to call home. While councils delivered around 10,600 homes in 2024/25 - the most in a single year since 1991/92 - the waitlist for social housing remains too long.

The blue and yellow flag represents more than independence. It represents resilience. Today, on Ukrainian Independence Day, we stand in solidarity with Ukraine and its people. London's support remains unwavering as they continue to defend their country and their future.
