I think the Internet used to be cool (roughly peaked around 2006-2010). But today the Internet is the total opposite of cool. It is a deeply corporate and fascistic medium that should we should probably reduced the usage of.

The old of idiom of "eating your seed corn" is apt here because AI (regardless of use) has been shown to have negative impact or memory and retention of skill. At some point *there won't be smart guys* at the helm of these models.

What this PHP attack shows is that now AI can create exploits at the speed of an agent. There is an arms race on and if you don't have a AI based defense counter-response you're cooked. Gee who benefits from that? Tail is wagging the dog. Create a problem and sell the solution to both sides.

The fact that Linus Torvalds is using AI the "that's all she wrote" moment for software development. From here on out each generation of software developers will be dumber than the last. They'll all be Vibe Code brained and when the last of the seniors die off no one will remember how to code.

Essentially what we are seeing with AI is that by forcing into all our products and essential services (communication, social, work) they have effectively manufactured consent for AI. "Oh you don't like AI? Well guess you don't get to participate in society now! and if you do we'll point it out.

There was programming before 2019 and programming after. It completely changed software development. If you don't like AI you likely have no place in software development now.

Cars in general aren’t especially forwarding thinking when the infrastructure technology in the US is stuck in the 1970s. What we need is properly funded high speed rail links. Instead we get more toys for the upper income brackets to LARP in.
