First world, white guy problem - I just got a Dolby Atmos capable sound system...now I have to re-rip a lot of 4K discs because I originally left off the Atmos track since I didn't have the gear to make use of it.

"I wanna get married" as a battlecry is something only MarriageToxin could pull off

Drops of God is such a father/son story it's making me emotional

Damn... just fixed my BlueSky account. I missed a place to post random screeds of wisdom.

@therealjoebob123.bsky.social Happy Birthday!

It's exceedingly hard to explain the emotional concept of 'soulmate' to your adult children without getting eyerolls or seeing them get uncomfortable.

When half a soul is in pain, the whole suffers.

Going to the local No More Kings protest to follow in the Antifa footsteps my dad created

@gooberzilla.bsky.social @docsane.bsky.social Great pod about Sayonara Jupiter. Sounds like you guys would have made a better film that I'd actually want to see.

Dr. Stone has some great "Fuck me? NO! Fuck You!!!!" moments

@comictiming.bsky.social @iamscifi.bsky.social @lampbane.bsky.social NJ is a bit more than a suburb of NYC but thanks for mentioning us kindly

@iamscifi.bsky.social Please, no more Brent on Previews pods. Dude just sounds miserable

@triggykyun.bsky.social ImpactCop! Love it!

Shocked & happy to see this www.sentaifilmworks.com/products/816... I guess Akiba Maid War appeals to a certain demographic... that I might just be a part of.

@grantthethief.bsky.social Great review for Godzilla Monsterpiece Theater. Just had it pop up in my RSS feed after hearing about it during your Blue Velvet review episode.

My Cousin Vinny: Ace Attorney Had to finally release this from my head

@iamscifi.bsky.social @lampbane.bsky.social Loving the Superman review, have about an hour left but I think Brent can fuck off with his 'both sides' bullshit and Snyder love, which seem to go hand-in-hand.

@shudder.com any chance you can add proper episode descriptions for @therealjoebob123.bsky.social The Last Drive-in?

SPOILERS AHEAD Decided to read all Uzaki-Chan wants to Hang Out manga from after the end of Season 2. It took them seven full volumes to finally hold hands but only five to go from holding hands to engaged to be married sexual partners. I appreciate that there was progress but so uneven :)

... and this is why God invented UPSes. Monolith is the house's 20TB+ @unraid.net box

@chrisbeveridge.bsky.social Thanks for covering shows that other sites don't, like the ones that tend to have three or four versions - broadcast, spicy, extra spicy, etc :)

@grantthethief.bsky.social I think you & your blade licking cohorts are underestimating the age of your listeners. Not only was I alive when Carmen Sandiego was on the air, but I already had a kid. Note I'm 58 so I might be on the deeper end of your listener pool.

@therealjoebob123.bsky.social My last drive-in visit was in the late 80s with my then-girlfriend, now wife of 35+ years. I forget what movie we saw because we were busy taking advantage of some alone time during a family excursion to Vermont.

@gooberzilla.bsky.social Listened to your Ready or Not pod. Loved it, as usual. BTW, your mentioned the acronym DINK during the questions section. It stands for Dual Income No Kids.

untappd.com/user/VinCube... Woo hoo!

@denpabooks.bsky.social They Were 11 has got to be the gold standard for manga published here in the US. Kudos to everyone involved.

@gooberzilla.bsky.social Loved the MegaForce(!!!!!!!!) pod. Good job on calling out the loser flag use. It was, of course, a different time. Thankfully we're past that time. Also, this exists to battle those folk

@mangacast.bsky.social They Were 11 is a beautiful piece of work. Kudos to the whole team.

Damn, can't imagine being a Stormtrooper being hit by a TIE Fighter blaster.

Mon Mothma raves HARD!

Looks like I'm buiding a giant NAS. Got the motherboard & power supply in. Waiting for the case, which can hold 10-12 drives, processor, RAM and the first three drives. Already purchased an @unraid.net license. Gonna be fun and, eventually, stress relieving.

@therealjoebob123.bsky.social Thank you for recognizing the importance of the 1954 film Them! In horror movie history. Loved the mention during the Season 5 Don't Panic episode.

Woo hoo! Since December 2022, I've walked over 5000 miles

Once again, Fuck Trump. Also, thank you @diabolikdvd.bsky.social for individually listing the Trump penalty so those that voted for that idiot realize tariff hurt them, not China. Better than hiding it behind a price increase that would reflect poorly on a great company

This adorable pile of murder horked on our bed early this morning. Her cuteness is the only reason she survives. Obviously a Darwinian adaptation.

@dumb-industries.com Will Movies Are Dumb be an ongoing show? I've got the first episode and hope there'll be more.

Thanks @gkids.com & @shoutstudios.bsky.social for releasing Summer Wars on 4K UHD. Enjoying it right now. Koi Koi!

Took three attempts but I finally got my Federal tax return accepted. Figured I'd deal with it before the 15th rush. Owed WAY TOO MUCH because of pension withdrawl & health insurance marketplace repayment.

Those who know me should realize what a milestone this is... My wife & I have been together for forty years as of today. Married for 35 but together for 40. How any human could put up with my shit for that long is a testament to her patience.

Looks like 1A is the Big Titty anime block on TokyoMX. Two short shows air back-to-back. HIDIVE has one, albeit censored but no one has the other. Thankfully Usenet to the rescue for the uncensored fansubs of both.

Is there a list somewhere of shows that didn't get a US streaming outlet? I'd have missed out on I Have a Crush At Work if I had to depend on them. I'll check MAL but I figured I'd ask the hive-mind to be sure.

Had a great day yesterday with @suziknitssox.bsky.social utilizing the present from her mom of tickets to see John Oliver & Seth Myers. Not that @lastweektonight.com or @latenightseth.bsky.social aren't good but seeing the folks in person is next-level. As was the beautiful venue.
