Just had QSO with Peter @MM9SQL via AO-7 SSB!!! A little raspy downlink but useful, and no CW takers... Thanks Pete, my 5W does it's dirty job πŸ€“πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Today LEOsat day! Setup seems to be working; I’ve made several QSOs via FO29 and RS44, but unfortunately there’s not much CW traffic🀨 It’s much better on SSB: during the last RS44 pass, I even made a QSO with Tim #GW4VXE, which is also a new country via sat. It’s a shame there isn’t much CW on sats!

Today I’m having a day of testing with my rather complicated setup, half local / half remote I’ve finished developing some β€˜middleware’ between #Predict and #rigtld, so that I can control the radios using this old (new) app for LEO satellites. You could say it’s a bit of a follow-up to my #PCRsat..

Yesterday I went on a boat trip with my cousins to IJ7 Cheradi Islands, two small islands off the coast of Taranto which were under military control. During the Second World War, chains were stretched between the two islands and the mainland to prevent access to the port.

There's nothing better than watching a couple of episodes of β€œStraight to Hell” under a beautiful starry sky and counting at least 15 satellites passing by... forget about the Veneto Plain, #Puglia forever!!!

Today national ARI contest... so managed to do some noise from my "remote HF station", even if I'm abt 900 km far south, into my loooong vacation!! A lot of fun, some QSO in CW/SSB/RTTY! but now going to have my last daily swim😎😎😎

Tonight, from my vacation, a little trip down memory lane... Transit5B-5!!! It’s always fun to listen to a sat that’s just a little younger than I am, and keeps orbiting undisturbed... Too bad it stops transmitting almost completely when it goes into shadow.

Now I can explain some of the strange behaviour of the remote LEO: I’ve added two temp sensors, one for the case, oner for the PA (which isn’t currently installed). This also explains why the rotor has been refusing to raise the antenna over 30Β° recently, whereas in the evening there’s no problem

WOW!! just had CW QSO with 4X1AJ and G5NIK via #RS44 thanks my (never finished) LEO sat remote stn !!! It’s been ages since the last satellites QSOs… let’s say since the days of Oscar 8 or RS 10/11 .... well, I'm really old... still kicking! πŸ€“πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜†

LEO satellite station β€œsanity check” when no satellite pass is available in the near future: Doppler traces from an aircraft flying over a beacon 50 km away... It works!!
