Join us tomorrow in NYC, Monday, 26th of October! From 5pm for networking, 6pm for the talks! Meetup: www.meetup.com/ny-scala/eve... Luma: luma.com/zp23z8wi
Interested? Sing up for a demo (visdom.virtuslab.com). Or meet us in person - we're often travelling around US & Europe. Yesterday we've spent the whole day on a conference in San Francisco, next up: Chicago, New York, Austin. See you there - or online!
All of @softwaremill.com's #Scala OSS projects are now migrated fully to the latest Scala LTS, 3.9.0: Tapir, sttp, Ox, sttp-ai, chimp, orca; each got a new minor release.
Sandcat (Docker + dev container sandbox config generator) now works seamlessly with Cellar (CLI tool for agents to query JVM dependencies) Try it out, leave a ⭐️ (or rather - two ;) ) github.com/VirtusLab/ce... github.com/VirtusLab/sa...
New Tulip (explains PRs in a human-friendly way) release just landed - thanks to two new contributors! 1. support for GitLab 2. as an alternative to Claude, you can use Codex or Cursor Get all the details here: github.com/VirtusLab/tu...
Join for the whole day - or just drop by to chat and get a demo of what's possible in modern Scala. Register at: 2026.scalasummit.com

🎤 Speaker spotlight: @warski.org, creator of Tapir, sttp and Ox. "Where Scala meets AI": Metals MCP, teaching AI to write better functional Scala & orchestrating agents with Orca, sttp-ai and chimp. 🗓️ Mon Oct 19 · SF · 3 days to go 🎟️ Ticket: 2026.scalasummit.com #Scala #BayAreaScala #SFScala
That was fast! @scaladays.org videos are already here. Both the panel discussion with Nada Amin, Martin Odersky, Arman Bilge, led by Krzysztof Romanowski, "Does language choice even matter in the AI era?": www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCsp...
And the (short) version of "Where Scala meets AI": www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yVV... For a longer version, join the upcoming meetups in SF/Chicago/NY next week! :)
Models get improved (& trained on existing skills?), so we're improving our #Scala skill as well. It's now shorter, with some rules moved to on-demand chapters. Also: both the skill, and ALL of @softwaremill.com's OSS is updated to sbt 2.0 - thanks to Michał Pierściński! github.com/VirtusLab/sc...

To finish the week, a new Orca release: * we've got a proper docs site: orca.virtuslab.com * revised out-of-the-box flows: quick, single-epic, multi-epic, review, resolve-issue: github.com/VirtusLab/or... * new reviewer: single-source-of-truth
* existing reviewers polished and enhanced, e.g. to verify if all changes are essential - not excess * updating models to latest Try it out - directly or via a skill - and leave us a 🌟! github.com/VirtusLab/orca
* AI Gateway, which defines policies, issues API keys, centralises model access control * Context Fabric, which gathers your organisational knowledge and exposes it to the agents More on Visdom: visdom.virtuslab.com

October 26: #Scala meetup in New York! For those who couldn't attend the full Scala Days experience in Berlin, we're coming over bringing two talks: "Making the AI agents safe with Scala" by Łukasz Biały (the approach that won the best paper award at CAIS 2026) and "Where Scala meets AI" by myself.
The first-ever-in-Poland Malayan Tapir was born in the Płock ZOO. He's called Visdom (as in visdom.virtuslab.com), and you can discuss both AI-native SDLC & Scala self-documenting HTTP APIs with him. VirtusLab is a proud sponsor! Pay a visit if you're in the neighbourhood:)
What might be a better way to interface with TypeSafe AI's #Jev than through a type-safe API? And what language might be better suited for the task than #Scala? That's why sttp-ai now has a fully type-safe Jev integration module: github.com/softwaremill... Enjoy :)
Our AI development stack tailored towards JVM development (#Java, #Scala) is shaping up nicely! * starting with security: Sandcat provides Docker-based sandboxing with devcontainer support github.com/VirtusLab/sa...
* using Scala? Coding agents generate use more Scala features & leverage benefits of FP when given the right instructions github.com/VirtusLab/sc... * you've got an agent-generated PR to review? Tulip explains the changes step-by-step, mixing code with prose & diagrams: github.com/VirtusLab/tu...
And if you'd like to get all of that in one package, ready for the enterprise, accelerating adoption of AI in teams, we've got Visdom: our AI-Native SDLC platform visdom.virtuslab.com

* Cellar allows querying the public API of any Maven dependency - much better than unpacking jars! github.com/VirtusLab/ce... * Orca allows you to write down your development process as deterministic code, and make the agents follow it: github.com/VirtusLab/orca
Orca (deterministic, AI-driven development flows): updated with the latest Claude / OpenAI models. Plus: define a project-specific reviewer, committed in .orca, which is automatically included in the review loop. github.com/VirtusLab/orca

We've got a new home! Check out VSS: VirtusLab Scala Stack! Direct-style, AI-first, type-safe, human & agent-friendly. vss.virtuslab.com
The Tulip tool - explaining PRs with a walk-through, instead of a code-only review - got a new option: commenting on the PRs straight from the generated page. github.com/virtusLab/tu...
