We discovered Summerfield Park, part of the path for the Central Av Connector Trail from Morgan Blvd Metro to over a to-be-built bridge to Downtown Largo. Don’t let them tell you a diversion to a massive Medical Center Dr interchange is the route! (We are working to wholly redesign that).

Is this supposed to be a safety improvement? By making it more expensive?

Interesting: @ddotdc.bsky.social has finalized rules changing the discount program for low-income residents for e-scooters and e-bikes offered by companies like Lime. Instead of unlimited rides under 30 minutes, those riders will now get 300 minutes a month.

I've been in D.C. for 25 years and have never once heard a resident or visitor refer to East Potomac Park as "Trash Island." I don't know that it even has a trash problem! That being said, this is where the East Wing was dumped after it was demolished...

Ummm, there's apparently a driver with a Florida tag who has gotten 57 traffic camera tickets in D.C. — including one for driving *141 mph* in a 35 mph zone. And another driver with a Virginia tag that has 405 traffic camera tickets, including going 108 in a 25. Insane.

D.C. Bike Ride brings Arlington road closures this weekend

It looks like Free2move, one of the last free-floating carsharing services in D.C., is ending service on September 15. ZipCar still exists, but in much diminished form. Years ago D.C. had Car2go, which had hundreds of Smart cars around town, but it shut down in 2019.
